Hi Families!
There are so many facets or extensions to the “gifted” children we are blessed to have in our lives❤️, I started this page with the hope that it would be a common forum for parents and the information that is not necessarily easy to find.... as my own children are aging into the older grades.... I want to leave this page with a few helpful resources.... as it is hard to do better, if we do not know better:)
Excellent Resources (for “instructional education” with 2, 3, 4 or 5 year olds)
🔘The Local Library
✔️My daughter earned her first reader award here. I learned about the “top” area preschools from other moms:)
🔘Preschool : Part time or Full time
( NOT Daycare... 2 very different places!)
✔️Both my kids STILL Love Their Preschool (and bonus on this one....) there are multiple other kids that started at Shiloh Sonshine Preschool together and they still have classes together
🔘LCSD (The Recreation Dept.)
✔️This is a pretty inexpensive way to let your child try a season in different sports... under different coaches too....,they will love it... if you 😍 love it too.
🔘Private Lesson (Karate, Music, Art, Dance, Gymnastics, Ballet, Piano, etc)
✔️ My children have been through all the above. I ensured that they finished the timeframe/season expected but always asked if they wanted to continue another 5-6 months or would like to try something new...

( For my newer parents) ... I sincerely hope this helps and I do know that I learned a lot about more resources for small kids while we attended these venues:)

Start back to School with Sleep 💤!

Exceptionally talented teachers are already beginning to focus on the upcoming 2018 school year. Are you preparing your kids yet?

No clue where to begin?
Start With 😴 SLEEP 💤!
👉 🧐Gradually increase/decrease a sleep schedule!!! It makes your and your kids back to school life less chaotic too!

Organize the evening/bedtime so the kiddos (and you!) don’t lose sleep!
Start by increasing bedtime by (+/-) fifteen minutes or more over the next two weeks.... try to start tonight ! For example, summer bedtime is 830 but school bedtime is 8pm. This week make it 815pm then 8pm next Monday. This also works by increasing bedtime per night vs. week:)

*Very important*
Also, begin to set the alarm and gradually move wake up time to the school year schedule. For example, if summertime your child wakes up around 8:00am, then make
15/30/45 minute interval increase per week and ease into the new school year by starting
in the morning!
July 24th 7:45am/7:30am/7:15am
July 30th 7:30am/7:00am/6:30am
August 6th 7:15am/6:30am/5:45am
August 13th 7:00am/ 6:00am/ 5:15am
(School-year Regular Wake up time!)

*The 1st School week*
Give them an extra 15 minutes to get up and going the first week (as they have an increased preoccupation with their personal/social concerns this 1st week. They might just thank you for allowing them to arrive without feeling rushed)
***The first week for the 2018 school year is August 20th/21st.
Normal time is 7:00am, move to 6:45am
Normal time is 6:00am move to 5:45am
Normal time is 5:15am, move to 5:00am
