Senator Scott Martin is hosting a free Social Media Safety and Parental Awareness event designed to equip parents, guardians and the community with the tools and information they need to help keep our children safe online.

During the event, experts from state and local agencies will discuss emerging online risks including cyberbullying, sextortion and deepfakes and share practical steps to take if these situations occur. Attendees will receive tips for safely navigating social media and gaming platforms, learn more about the consequences of sextortion, learn how the digital world is affecting children’s mental health and explore effective ways to talk with kids about online dangers.

Following the presentation, attendees can speak with representatives from participating state and local organizations for additional resources and support.
