Merry Christmas to all members, each and every single one of you are an important part of the Auxiliary, and we need you! I thank all of who have paid dues on time, we are over 100%, and it is because of you. As far as I know, our Auxiliary is supposed to be able to meet in Lampasas VFW for January meeting, which will be January 13, at 11:00 AM. On January 19th and 20th we will be at MidWinter in Corpus, also don’t forget VFW 8539 is hosting the District Meeting so be prepared to assist the VFW on Saturday the 27th of January, with our district meeting. Our Auxiliary Department President Susie Carter will be our honored guest, we will have the Auxiliary meeting following lunch, at 1:00 PM at the Open Gate Cowboy Church on 580. It is an easy drive and close to the VFW.

Good meeting yesterday for those who were not with us. Planning for VA Hospital Christmas, also Santa Visits to the Nursing Homes in Lampasas. Will meet in Lampasas VFW for January meeting. Hope to see all members that can make it! Don’t forget we have District Meeting in January plus Mid Winter Conference in Corpus. This will be a busy month. We need YOU!

All Auxiliary Members that are not life members need to pay your dues by December, please. Do not forget that the State will shut down the office for the holidays, so get your dues paid please. You will not be considered in good standing, cannot vote, or hold office if you are not a member in good standing. Also, Happy Thanksgiving to all our members and families. You are each very important to me, and I thank you each for your support, your best wishes, and your prayers. I pray for your health, your safety, your family, and our Auxiliary to persevere and stand strong. I am so proud of all of you, and wish you a Blessed Thanksgiving! We meet in Burnet Dec 9, at noon. I hope to see you all, and perhaps by then we can figure out a permanent place to meet that is convenient for all.

Thanks to all the beautiful little witches, dinosaurs, StarTrekkies, Princesses, Unicorns, and “Scream” ghouls,really scary costumes, and a couple of “bunnies” with powder puff tails. We even had Bumble Bee, the Transformer, also Beetlejuice. We took pictures of all our trick & treaters, enjoyed them so much! We even had a giant banana, We had about 100 kids, and any candy we did not give away, Betty King took to square and gave to Trick & Treaters on the square!

The Auxiliary of VFW 8539 will be offering “Trunk or Treat” on October 28 from 3:00-5:00 PM in the parking lot at the Lampasas VFW, prior to “Squared Silly” all young ghosts and goblins are invited.

On November 11, 2023 which is Veterans Day and also our Auxiliary Meeting date, the VFW will be having the Post Thanksgiving dinner.
The VFW will be providing Turkeys and Hams, the Community Kitchen Team will provide the side dishes, and the VFW Auxiliary 8539 will provide desserts. We need our members to let us know who can be there, and who can bring desserts. Thank you Auxiliary.

We go by the current by-laws and Roberts Rules of Order . Our meetings are the 2nd Saturday of each month at 11:00 AM. All eligible Mothers, Fathers, Spouses, Children, Grandchildren, and Siblings over the age of 16 are welcome and are invited to join our Auxiliary.

We are the sons, daughters, spouses, grandparents, parents, brothers and sisters of active duty or honorably discharged, fallen in battle Warriors Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard. We are a Fraternal, Patriotic, Educational, Charitable organization to support our Veterans and their families. We support the United Ststes, our Flag, but mostly our Warriors. God Bless America!
