The LESD Family Success Center offers FREE TELEHEALTH SERVICES to ALL Kern Family Health Care (KFHC) members - and you DO NOT have to have a child enrolled in LESD! 🎉

Need to see a doctor for a basic illness or urgent care need? You, your spouse, your children, other family members, or anyone in your household who is a KFHC member may be able to use this convenient service.

🎒 Give your child the best start possible!

Did you know that children who attend preschool build important skills that help them succeed in kindergarten, school, and beyond? Preschool helps children learn to share, communicate, solve problems, follow routines, and develop a love of learning.

🌟 LESD Pre-K programs are now enrolling children who turn 3 or 4 years old by December 1st!

✅ FREE Part-Day Preschool (AM & PM) at Alicante School
✅ FREE or Low-Cost Full-Day Preschool at Lamont School & Myrtle Avenue School

Spaces are limited and waiting lists are already forming for some classes/ages.

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing partners, Lamont Elementary School District will once again be hosting a Backpack Distribution on Wednesday, July 15, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the LESD Family Success Center (7915 Burgundy Ave.). This year's event will be held in conjunction with a Welcome Back Open House as we invite all LESD families to explore the educational and support programs available to all of our students and families.

✅ FREE backpacks for TK–12 students
✅ FREE school supplies for ALL LESD learners
📍 First come, first served — supplies are limited!
👧👦 Children must be present and accompanied by an adult.

Please share with any families you know who may need a free backpack and school supplies to help them get their kiddos ready for school!

Save the Date! This year's Summer Reading Challenge is coming soon. Eat. Read. Learn. Play. Plant a seed at your Library this summer!

Read 10 books or for 10 hours. You will get a FREE book and many other prizes. This is while supplies last. Everyone from age 1 to 100 can join! This is happening at all Kern County Libraries from June 1st to July 31st. More information is on the flyer below, or stop by the Lamont Branch Library!

Join Del Oro for their Community Health Fair on Tuesday, April 28 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Del Oro Gym. This family-friendly event will include fun activities, student performances by our Del Oro Mariachi and Advanced Guitar, sports physicals (only available to current Del Oro students), and a variety of health and wellness resources.

We're having so much fun, and seeing so many new LESD scholars, at today's centralized registration event! We have physicals, immunizations, dental screenings, and so many fun activities for the kids. If your child turns 3, 4, or 5 by September 1st, bring them and their birth certificate out before 6:30pm to get them registered and ready for school!!!

In our ongoing efforts to support our families, we are sharing information from the Rapid Response Network of Kern, which provides information and assistance related to immigration enforcement agencies. We encourage you to review the attached flyer and keep it available if needed. The Rapid Response Hotline number can also be used to share any activity you may witness, or to get help if someone you know is detained - 661-432-2230.

As you know, the safety and well-being of our students is always our highest priority. Our schools follow established protocols designed to maintain safe and secure campuses at all times. Visitors, including any outside agencies, are required to follow district procedures before entering school grounds. Our staff is trained to respond appropriately to any situation in order to protect students and maintain a focused learning environment.

We are committed to supporting every student and family in our community by ensuring our students feel safe and supported. If your family needs any additional support for any reason, such as information and resources, food support, or help accessing health care, please know our Family Success Center is here to help!
