The Food Pantry is in need of boxes of hot chocolate and cans of soup. Please bring your donations to the pantry during regular hours: Tuesday 2-3:30 or Thursday 5-6:30. Or you may drop off donations at local churches. Thank you!

School supply Campaign
Help Lamoni students succeed by donating to the Food Pantry’s thirteenth annual School Supply Campaign! School supplies are provided to Lamoni students and 100% of donations are used to help our local families with the costs of starting a new school year. Donations are appreciated by August 1. Your tax deductible donation can be sent to the Lamoni Food Pantry, 416 East Main Street, Lamoni IA 59149. Please nots SSC on your check.

Pantry 2024 Christmas Meals
The Food Pantry is again planning to give out Christmas meals to 70 families in our area. The ham dinner with all the fixings/side dishes and pie will cost $20. You can donate by giving cash or writing a check to the Lamoni Food Pantry. Donations can be mailed (416 E. Main St.) or dropped in our locked mailbox. Donations would be appreciated by Sunday, December 8th. The meals will be delivered on Saturday, December 21st.

The Lamoni Pantry is a non-profit community service that assists low income families in the Lamoni School District. It is located in the basement of the Methodist Church at 302 N. Maple St. in Lamoni, Iowa. Programs include:
Food Pantry - Low income families may visit the Food Pantry once a month to receive help with needed items. We provide supplement food, personal care items, and diapers. We help around 75 families each month, which represents about 189 individuals.
School Supply Campaign - Every summer we raise funds to buy school supplies and backpacks for Lamoni children/youth who need them.
Backpack Buddies - Every Friday during the school year volunteers take sacks of kid friendly food provided by the Food Bank of Iowa to the elementary school to be put in the backpacks of low income kids who sign up for the program.
Emergency Relief Fund - Funds are available for low income families who have an emergency need (e.g. help with rent, utilities, gas for doctor appointments, etc.). Call 784-3353 to request help.
Raised Garden Program - Every spring we build 6 new raised gardens for low income families and provide the plants/seeds for those gardens. Gardens from the previous year are also refreshed with dirt and plants/seeds are provided.
Appliance Program - Working appliances from area families are collected and donated to area low income families who need them.
39% of individuals served are below the age of 18
Every winter the Pantry buys gloves for children/youth of the pantry families ($200 per year)
Raise funds to buy school supplies for low-income students at the local school ($2,000 per year)
Supplies the school with head lice “kits” as needed for low income families (includes shampoo, comb, and laundry detergent ($11 each)
We built 6 new gardens this year for families with children. We ‘refreshed” gardens for 6 families with children from years past ($1,000)
Furnished deodorant, combs, soap, and containers for all the fourth and fifth grade students for “the Talk” ($280)
We provide toothbrushes for kids (yearly $120)
Drive to get the Backpack Buddies sacks and store them until weekly delivery on Fridays. We also provide the volunteers for that delivery.
Pay camperships for 36 kids to go to Environment Camp at GU ($35 for each camper)
