Splash Floating Classroom

Splash Floating Classroom SPLASH Floating Classroom is an Educational and Environmental 501(c)3 non-profit organization. There are many potential lessons to be learned on the water.

In September 2004 the first class of students boarded our first floating classroom, SPLASH Steamboat. The steamboat was a replica of an 1800's sternwheeler, and served us many years an taught many lessons before she was sold and re-homed to Alaska. Now, we are on the hunt for a new vessel to teach the next generation! The main idea of a floating classroom is to inspire kids and to get them involve

d in learning, particularly about STEM sciences, the importance of the Delaware rivershed, and local history. Aside from the obvious lessons, like biology and aquatic studies math can be taught on the water, including the calculation of river speed, horse power and turbulence.

ShadFest April 25 and 26! 11am-5pm both days. Visit SPLASH at 2 locations:
Table 1: Lambertville Station Restaurant and Inn, whom we are extremely thankful to for providing us space outside of the corner of their restaurant. This makes us visible, and highly visitable!
Table 2: North Union Street, right outside of our legal supporters at Stark & Stark Law Firm. The SPLASH team will offer our popular Eviroscape lesson display as well as a microscope mini-lesson about zooplankton, and phytoplankton in the Delaware.

This month SPLASH Floating Classroom joins people around the world in recognizing World Water Day. The global theme of World Water Day (March 22) is water and gender, highlighting the empowerment of women and girls, ensuring their full participation in water decisions, leading to healthier, more resilient watersheds for all.
We’re targeting $10,000 to support STEM environmental education for area youth. Please help us cross the finish line: www.splashclassroom.org
