We are so glad to be offering two different adult grief groups this Fall to help fit everyone's busy schedules. Please know that absolutely everyone is welcome, though these supportive sessions will have a special focus on journeying through widow's grief.

Here are the details for the groups:

- Starting September 15th @ 5:00 PM
- Starting September 23rd @ 10:30 AM

To the amazing people of Southeast Colorado;
It is with certainty, but also great difficulty, that I share that I will be retiring as Executive Director of Lamar Area Hospice, effective December 31, 2026.
Representing this organization and serving our wonderful communities in Southeast Colorado has been among the most fulfilling and gratifying experiences of my life. As difficult as it is to imagine my world without Hospice at its center, I have decided that the end of this year is the right time for me to step down. Events over the last few years have reinforced for me how important family is. I believe timing is everything, and I feel this is the right time for both me and Hospice.
Thank you for partnering with me, especially in the early years, as I stepped into a completely foreign career path as the leader of this remarkable organization. I am deeply grateful for the support, encouragement, and friendship you have given me throughout my hospice journey.
I am confident that the organization is in very capable hands and is well positioned for a bright future. It has been an extraordinary privilege to serve alongside so many compassionate people who are committed to caring for our communities.

On August 8, 2026, the Prowers County Fair Board graciously honored Lamar Area Hospice as the Tough Enough to Wear Pink/Breast Cancer Awareness Honoree during the Sand and Sage Fair Rodeo, where our staff received a standing ovation.

We are incredibly grateful for our community's continued support. Members of our nursing team, office, respite staff, volunteers, board members, and representatives of the fundraising committee were all in attendance to represent our organization.
