What a tremendous evening for our community!! With only five weeks of planning, the Lamar YMCA Exploratory Committee hosted an amazing Founders’ Banquet on Saturday, February 15th. More than 100 guests gathered for a wonderful evening, including a delicious Wagyu steak dinner, music and entertainment, a silent auction, a live auction, recognition of YMCA donors and supporters, and an informative presentation on the building plans for the Lamar YMCA including different opportunities to support this incredible community program🖤❤️

More information will be included in a future edition of The Lamar Democrat.

Special thanks to everyone who attended, donated items for the silent and live auctions, and helped set up and/or take down for the event. We’d also like to give special recognition to our master of ceremonies, Paul Roberts; our auctioneer for the live auction, Jim Schiltz; Musical Entertainment, Nathan Wehrman; Scott Nolting & family for their catering services; Danny & Jewell Little for donating the Wagyu steaks; Brian Willet for the cool pinball machines; 2024 Lamar Fair Queen, Charley Fanning; and, Carthage YMCA Executive Director Jonathan Roberts and his staff member Zoe.
