Lakin softball is headed to the 3A State Tournament after battling through a tough regional bracket.
The Broncs opened postseason play with a narrow 4-3 win over Goodland, followed it up with another close 3-2 victory against Southwestern Heights in the semifinals, then finished off the regional run with a 7-2 championship win over Cimarron.
Lakin now heads to state with a 15-12 record after winning three straight postseason games to capture the regional title.
