June is Pride Month — a time to celebrate identity, community, resilience, and the importance of mental health support for LGBTQ+ individuals.

At NAMI JeffCo, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, supported, and valued exactly as they are. LGBTQ+ individuals continue to face higher rates of anxiety, depression, trauma, and su***de risk — but no one should have to navigate those challenges alone.

This month and every month:
You belong.
Your story matters.
Your mental health matters.

If you or someone you love needs support, NAMI is here with free education, resources, and support groups.

Happy Pride from NAMI JeffCo.

NAMIWalks Colorado 2026 was more than a walk—it was a powerful reminder that no one has to face mental health challenges alone.

Nearly 250 walkers came together in support of mental health for all, helping raise almost $165,000 so far to fund free education programs, support groups, and resources across Colorado.

From inspiring signs and heartfelt stories to sunshine, lawn games, coffee, and community connection, the day was filled with hope, resilience, and healing.

And yes—the wind showed up too. Many attendees joked it was “blowing away anything negative,” which honestly felt perfect for a day centered around hope.

Fundraising remains open through July 8th, and every donation helps support mental health resources in our communities.

Thank you for walking with us.

Advocacy doesn’t stop when Mental Health Awareness Month ends.

This month, NAMI Colorado staff traveled to Washington, D.C. for TD Hill Day to share stories, advocate for the TD community, and highlight the urgent mental health needs facing individuals and families across our state.

The conversations continued back home at the Colorado State Capitol—because every voice matters, and real change happens when communities speak up together.

Thank you to every advocate, supporter, and community member helping move mental health forward in Colorado.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to thank this incredible community for continuing to show up, speak out, and support one another.

Throughout May, people across Colorado shared their stories, advocated for change, checked in on loved ones, and reminded others that mental health matters every single day—not just this month.

This year’s message, “Healing Begins in Community,” came to life through local events, advocacy, NAMIWalks Colorado, and everyday moments of connection that helped people feel seen, heard, and less alone.

Thank you for being part of this movement. Let’s keep the conversation going all year long.

This Memorial Day weekend, we honor and remember the brave service members who gave their lives for our country.

For many, this weekend can also bring grief, loneliness, trauma reminders, or complicated emotions. If you or someone you love is struggling, you are not alone. Mental health matters for veterans, military families, and our entire community.

As we gather with friends and family this weekend, let’s also check in on one another with compassion and care. Sometimes a simple “How are you really doing?” can make a difference.

If you need support:

* Call or text 988
* Reach out to a trusted friend or loved one
* Connect with local mental health resources through NAMI JeffCo

This weekend, we remember. We honor. We support one another.

“Spinning the wheel” for a great cause.

One of our NAMI JeffCo board members is attending the American Psychiatric Association conference in San Francisco this week and had the chance to spin the wheel for a donation to NAMI!

Every connection, conversation, and act of support helps move mental health awareness forward. We’re grateful to see NAMI represented on a national stage while continuing to advocate for education, support, and community right here in Jefferson County.

Mental health matters everywhere — from local communities to national conferences.

Tardive Dyskinesia Awareness Week: May 3–9

Tardive dyskinesia, or TD, is an involuntary movement disorder that can affect the face, torso, limbs, fingers, and toes. It can sometimes develop after long-term use of certain medications, including antipsychotic medications that are often essential in treating conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and schizoaffective disorder.

TD is more than a movement disorder. It can impact confidence, social connection, daily functioning, and emotional well-being.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, NAMI JeffCo is helping raise awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage people to talk with their healthcare provider if they notice unusual or uncontrollable movements.

Routine screening matters. Early recognition and treatment can make a meaningful difference.

Learn more and find a doctor discussion guide at TalkAboutTD.com

If you or someone you love is taking antipsychotic medication and has concerns about movement symptoms, reach out to a healthcare provider.
