Happy Holidays!
We are so grateful for all of your support this year. In 2023 Friends of Paha was able to send 27 youth with disabilities to Camp Paha where they were able to do activities like visit the zoo, tour the museum, go swimming, and more! With your help, we were able to donate more than $35,000 to the program.
We know there are many charities looking for assistance this GivingTuesday and on the upcoming Colorado Gives Day. At Friends of Paha, we are already planning for Camp Paha 2024 with registrations opening in just a few months. FoP is entirely volunteer which means 100% of your donation will go directly to funding Camp scholarships for youth with disabilities in Denver. Any gift you can make will impact the life of a camper and their family.
My daughter, Hayden, has attended Camp Paha for a couple summers. It truly is the highlight of not only her summer, but year as well. The staff at Camp Paha truly not only include her in all activities, but are able to adapt to meet her needs. She comes home from camp happy, tired, and so excited to return and see her friends the next day. Being non-verbal and having issues with her coordination, balance, and cognitive development makes summers challenging. She doesn't have neighborhood friends to hang out with, playdates, or even get to just chill out with the kids down the street at the pool without mom being hands on. Paha not only gives us a few hours of respite each day for a couple weeks during the summer and the opportunity to do outdoor activities with Hayden's sister that we are limited to with Hayden, but it also gives Hayden opportunities to feel like a typical kid - getting to go swimming with friends, play games, go on super fun field trips, make art projects, and most importantly, laugh and have fun.
