This month, we had the privilege of connecting live with about 15 pastors and ministry leaders in Zambia for a powerful conversation about mental health ministry in the Church. 🇿🇲

The conversation focused on the growing mental health challenges facing communities in Zambia, where nearly 1 in 5 adults struggle with mental health concerns, while access to professional care remains extremely limited.

Because over 90% of Zambians identify as Christian, the Church is uniquely positioned to bring support, healing, community, and biblical encouragement to those who are struggling.

We were deeply encouraged by Pastor Michael, who has already helped implement Anchor programs across 150 denominations in Zambia. His leadership and heart for pastors and families are opening doors for life-changing ministry.

Please pray for Pastor Michael, the pastors who attended, and the continued growth of mental health support ministries throughout Zambia. 🇿🇲❤️

The faith of our brother Dr. Lamar Hardwick, has become sight.

“We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, concerning those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.”
— 1 Thessalonians 4:13–14 (CSB)

Please join us in praying for Lamar’s wife, children, family, and friends as they walk through this profound loss.

One of the many things Lamar reminded us during his final sermon at the Disability & the Church Conference was:

“When life isn’t going the way you expected, look for where God is still at work — especially among those society sidelines.”

Today we grieve. But we do not grieve without hope. Because of Christ, death does not have the final word.

The Savior, Christ Jesus our Lord, whom Lamar faithfully proclaimed throughout his life and ministry, has now welcomed him home:

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)

Until that day when faith becomes sight for all who belong to Christ.

At the heart of every Overcome group is a sense of real, open community.

This happens because in Overcome, we’re real in our discussions, open about our stories, and guided by the truth of Scripture.

If you’ve been thinking about joining an online group, we want to encourage you to take the next step!

Our next online Overcome group is starting May 6th and is designed to support you through life’s heavier seasons—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Whether you’re:
➡️ Navigating a mental health diagnosis
➡️ Walking through a difficult or uncertain season
➡️ Supporting a loved one
➡️ Or exploring what it looks like to facilitate a group in the future

You don’t have to do it alone.

This 8-week, Christ-centered group experience offers an encouraging, confidential space to be honest about what you’re facing while growing in hope alongside others who understand.

Here’s what you can walk away with:
✅ A deeper sense of hope in the midst of struggle
✅ Meaningful, supportive relationships
✅ Practical tools for daily well-being
✅ Renewed perspective grounded in faith

Overcome Group Details:
Wednesdays | 6:00–7:30pm (MDT)
