On Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (and at certain locations on Sunday, Aug. 11*), you're invited to stop by to buy a glass of lemonade and support the young entrepreneurs who learned how to set up, market and run their own stands through the official Lemonade Day program.

Play at Palms will feature Disney's Togo on Friday, Feb. 10 at Palms Park with check in beginning at 6 p.m. and the movie beginning at 7 p.m. Bring your picnic blankets and low back chairs and enjoy an evening out with friends at the park! The Park Alternative Learning Sites (PALS) program will be offered by the City of Lakewood at 8 park locations from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., for children in first through fifth grades. Monthly programs will offer a safe atmosphere for children to complete their school work and participate in their virtual learning while in a group setting of one adult to ten children. Camp Circle, a summer day camp program for children ages 6-12, will be offered at Mayfair and Palms Parks for eight consecutive weeks beginning June 29 and ending August 21. See the flyer at www.lakewoodcity.org/CampCircle.

The program will provide supervised activities Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on a 1:12 staff-to-camper ratio, and will follow the L.A. As a reminder, in accordance with the County Public Health Order, all Lakewood parks continue to be closed to any group recreational activity or gatherings, including on Easter Sunday.

While Easter is a traditional time for families to get together, it is essential that people stay home to reduce the risk of community spread of the coronavirus.

All Lakewood playgrounds are closed and gathering in the park is prohibited. Traditional Easter weekend activities, such as Easter egg hunts and family celebrations of any size are off-limits at all public parks.

The City of Lakewood has canceled or postponed all city events, recreation classes and sports league games through at least May 6. Therefore, the Palms Park Spring Community Car Show scheduled for Friday, April 10 has been canceled.

After reviewing the newest guidance provided by county and state health officials to protect public health and slow the transmission of the coronavirus, the City of Lakewood is canceling or postponing city events and recreation classes effective Friday, March 13 through at least the end of March.

Therefore, the Play at Palms: Movie Night Under the Stars featuring "Pokemon Detective Pikachu" scheduled for Friday, March 13 at Palms Park has been canceled.
