Monmouth County Goes Purple thanks to the Prevention Coalition of Monmouth County

This August, we’re going purple to raise awareness, remember those we’ve lost, and stand together in the fight against opioid overdose.

The purple flags represent the 89 lives lost to an opioid overdose in Monmouth County in 2025. There were also 344 reported nonfatal opioid overdoses in our community.

Every flag represents a life, a family, and a story. Together, we can spread awareness, support prevention, and remind our community that recovery is possible and help is available.

Awareness reduces stigma. Compassion creates connection. Education can save lives.

Together, we can continue building communities rooted in understanding, support, and prevention.

Grief looks different for everyone. It doesn't follow a timeline, and there is no "right" way to heal.

Today, on National Grief Awareness Day, we recognize those who are grieving and encourage compassion, patience, and support for anyone navigating loss. Whether it's the loss of a loved one, a friendship, a pet, a relationship, or another significant life change, your feelings are valid.
If someone you know is grieving, a simple "I'm here for you" can make a meaningful difference. 💙

NJ4S is here to help connect youth and families with resources, support, and caring professionals when they need it most.

As the new school year approaches, remember that you don't have to do it all on your own.

Building a support team can make a big difference when you're facing challenges, celebrating successes, or simply needing someone to talk to. Whether it's a parent, teacher, school counselor, coach, mentor, or trusted friend, having people you can rely on helps build resilience and supports your mental well-being.

Take a moment to think about who's on your support team—and remember, asking for help is a sign of strength. 💙

The first day of school will be here before we know it! As you begin preparing backpacks, supplies, and schedules, don't forget to prepare your mind, too.

Getting back into a routine can bring excitement, but it can also feel overwhelming. Remember to make time for rest, ask for support when you need it, and take things one step at a time. Prioritizing your mental wellness is just as important as preparing for the classroom.

This summer, our team has had the opportunity to partner with Camp Zehnder, facilitating engaging lessons while building meaningful connections with campers.

From learning new skills to sharing laughs and creating lasting memories, it's been a joy to watch campers grow in confidence while having fun along the way. Thank you to Camp Zehnder for welcoming NJ4S COMPASS – Monmouth—we've loved being part of your summer! 💙
