Our Artist/Presenter for Thurs February 19, 2026 was fashion designer & Master sewer Joey Feketik: He has been creating fashion for approx 16 years. He practices what is called ' Minimal Waste Construction ', paired with dead stock fabrics, which means he is responsible with excess waste, and not perpetuating 'fast fashion' culture. He enjoys the use of color and symmetrical design, when asked- but really tries to utilize the inspiration that lives in our everyday lives. He has been featured at the Ingenuity Fest & has been on New Day Cleveland fairly recently, which has allowed him to cultivate an interest in his fashion designs & hand made artisan products.
He was very interesting & informative & did a great job.I looked forward to hearing his presentation as our family is a big proponent of RRR - Re -use, Re-purpose, Re-cycle - with all elements of art, fashion, all sorts of art media & materials. From reading Vogue Magazine cover-to-cover for years, I am well versed on this subject. Vogue staff & editors were the proud leaders of the "anti-fast fashion" Movement for many years now. So proud of Vogue. Fast fashion clothing manufacturers are guilty of an insurmountable & unbelievable amount of waste & excess stuff in our landfills. I've read all the statistics years ago. Its very damaging to our planet's health. & it is definitely not sustainable!
