We are launching our monthly litter clean up, thanks to feedback from our Birdtown neighbors! Flock & Pick is the perfect opportunity to talk with neighbors while we all work toward a cleaner Birdtown.

We’ll meet the third Saturday of every month at a designated location (announced in advance) to pick up litter around Birdtown and clear any obstructed storm drains. The coalition *should* have enough litter pick tools to lend to volunteers, you just need to bring gloves!

Next Saturday we’ll meet at the corner of Quail and Thrush on the Harrison Elementary sidewalk. See you there!

Birdtown has 756 registered voters and nearly 3,000 residents.

The gap between those two numbers is where the work is.

Nearly half of everyone on the voter rolls here registered in 2020 or later. This is a neighborhood newer to civic participation than most people realize. The roots are still shallow. That matters.

When the stakes feel highest, Birdtown shows up. 57% turnout in the 2024 general election. November 2025, a Lakewood city election, brought out 15%. The closer the election is to home, the fewer neighbors walk down to Harrison Elementary to vote.

200 registered voters in this neighborhood have never cast a ballot in any tracked election. They're on the rolls. They're here.

The Birdtown Coalition exists, in part, to close that gap. Civic participation starts with knowing your neighbors, knowing what's at stake, and knowing that 756 people on a few blocks have more power than they think.

Register to vote by October 5, and remember to vote on November 3.
