Day seven

It’s been a long, busy, and very satisfying week. We’ve loaded and sent nearly 50 planes to devastated areas in North & South Carolina.

The images and videos of the region are heart breaking

Cody Coburn and the Jersey Aero Club mission has been to deliver immediate need items to individuals and families same day. We continue to do so and plan to do so at least through the end of the month

Tomorrow we have three flights scheduled.

If you have family or know someone in the region that has been affected, please reach out to Cody or I and we will work with you to deliver aid

Day seven of Helene relief flights from Lakewood.

We have 4 flights scheduled today.

Yesterday I had a Chance to fly down to the affected areas with Cody Coburn

We flew over parts of Ashe county and Asheville that were devastated by mudslides, river flooding and severe storm damage.

There was lots of flight activity at KGEV, NC06, 7A8 and KAVL.

It was the flight from KGEV to KAVL where we saw the breath of infrastructure damage in the region.

Become A Member

Membership in the Jersey Aero Club is a privilege. Continued benefits of this membership privilege depend on the active cooperation of all members to help administer the Club and to keep the Club equipment in good condition. The Club’s officers and trustees have a big job to do and every member should try to help.

The Club is limited to 150 members and normally has 5 aircraft of various size and cost. An exceptional level of maintenance is a priority for the club. The aircraft and equipment are kept in the best condition possible. Instruction for advanced ratings is available from club instructors at a very reasonable cost.

To join the club you need to submit an application and attend a Board of Directors Meeting prior to the first reading of your application (the schedule is posted on this web site). To submit an application, you must have another club member to act as your sponsor. If you already know somebody in the club, great. If not, start attending meetings and other club functions and meeting some of our members. Prospective members are always welcome at any meeting. In fact even if you already do know some members it is highly recommend that you still attend some meetings before you join to get an idea of how the club works.

As far as cost, there is a $500 initiation fee, payable at the time your application has its first reading. At the next meeting, your application is read a second time, and voted on without you present. Dues are currently $55 per month, which covers our fixed expenses, such as insurance and building rent.
