We're excited to introduce something new this Recovery Month! 💛

Meet the Stability Circle, a community of monthly supporters who believe stability changes everything.

Monthly support gives RecoveryWorks something incredibly valuable: steady support we can count on month after month, so our unhoused neighbors have stability they can count on, too.

And we're already halfway to our goal! 🎉 Five new members have joined, and we're hoping to welcome 10 by September 30.

Even better, thanks to a generous supporter, every new member's monthly gifts will be matched for their first 12 months.

Will you help us reach 10?

What does recovery mean to you? 💛

This weekend, we joined Advocates for Recovery Colorado Non-Profit at their Rally for Recovery and asked attendees that question.

Here are a few of the answers people shared:

💬 “Recovery means the ability to struggle without failing.”
💬 “Recovery means self-worth.”
💬 “Wilder than I ever imagined. So, so crazy good. Freedom.”
💬 “Recovery means I get to try again, and again, and again! Nobody gets it right the first time. You got this!”

There isn't one answer because recovery isn't one thing.

That got us thinking about another question: What makes recovery possible?

In a new essay, RecoveryWorks Executive Director James Ginsburg reflects on what years of working alongside unhoused neighbors have taught us about recovery and what makes it possible.

Recovery doesn’t always begin when someone finds housing.

For Cassandra, recovery began years earlier. During six years of homelessness, moving between hotels and the streets, she worked hard to protect her sobriety. But without a safe, stable place to live, moving forward in other parts of her life was incredibly difficult.

When Cassandra came to RecoveryWorks, she finally had a safe place where her cat, Cuddles, could stay with her. From there, she embraced mental health and art therapy, found full-time employment, worked toward permanent housing and began rebuilding relationships with family.

In August, Cassandra moved into an apartment of her own and is now thinking about a future that once felt out of reach.

“I used to not want to wake up. Now I’m excited when I wake up to see what’s in store for the day.”

This Recovery Month, Cassandra’s story is a reminder that recovery can take many forms, and that stability can create the space for what comes next.

September is National Recovery Month! 💜

At RecoveryWorks, we see every day that recovery can take many forms. It can mean recovery from addiction, illness, homelessness, trauma or simply a time when life has come undone. Every person’s path is different, but the building blocks of stability are often remarkably similar: a safe place to sleep, access to health care, supportive relationships, meaningful work and community.

Throughout September, we’ll be celebrating recovery in all its forms and sharing stories and perspectives about what helps people move from surviving today toward what comes next.

One thing we know: Recovery starts with stability.

Thank you to Colorado Gives Foundation for awarding RecoveryWorks a Health Grant to support Jefferson County residents experiencing homelessness!

❤️ For people experiencing homelessness, accessing consistent healthcare can be incredibly difficult. At RecoveryWorks, we’re working to change that.

This funding will help expand access to integrated medical, behavioral health, dental, and recovery services within the stable, supportive environment our guests need to engage in care and improve their health.

We’re grateful to Colorado Gives Foundation for investing in better health outcomes for our unhoused neighbors and a healthier Jefferson County!

Thanks to West Metro Chamber for the opportunity to share a little about RecoveryWorks at this month's Women in Business breakfast!

It was a great way to kick off Recovery Month and talk about why stability is the foundation for recovery, and to share the work RecoveryWorks is doing to build that stability with our unhoused neighbors.

We were also glad to sponsor the morning’s coffee and support this amazing group of local business and community leaders!

Just $10 stood between Dillon, Jasmine, and Isiah and losing the only shelter they had.

After coming up short on one week's motel rent, the family found themselves sleeping in a tent while continuing to work and search for a path back to stable housing.

With support from the Lakewood LEAD team, RecoveryWorks, and other community partners, they found that path. Today, they're celebrating a new chapter in permanent housing.

As Dillon shared: "I don't feel like I'm just going to lose everything in one day again."

We're incredibly proud of the hard work this family put into rebuilding their lives. We're also grateful to have played a small part in providing the stability, support, and encouragement that helped make this next chapter possible.

❤️ A big thank you to our friends at Grace Covenant Church!

For the second year in a row, Pastor Nathan B. and the Grace Covenant Church team treated our RecoveryWorks guests and staff to a wonderful summer BBQ.

It was a great afternoon of good food, conversation, and community. We were especially excited to gather on our new patio, which made the day even more special!

Thank you for your generosity and for continuing to invest in our RecoveryWorks community. We are so grateful for your friendship! Grace Chapel-Englewood, CO

Thank you to Colorado Gives Foundation for awarding RecoveryWorks a Housing Grant to support Jefferson County residents experiencing homelessness.

🔑 At RecoveryWorks, we know that housing is often the key that unlocks everything else—health, recovery, employment, community, and hope.

As homelessness continues to rise in Jefferson County, investments in housing solutions remain critical. Stable housing provides the foundation people need to access resources, build community, pursue recovery, and move toward lasting stability.

“Housing is often the first key that unlocks lasting change,” said James Ginsburg, Executive Director of RecoveryWorks. “This investment will help more of our unhoused neighbors access the stability, resources, and support they need to build a path forward.”

We are grateful to Colorado Gives Foundation for investing in housing solutions and helping create pathways to stability in our community.
