Tune in for some important health updates with Michele at SAF South!

🔅First up is Ludo! Ludo is the first fox at our Florida location to ever wear a shirt! This shirt is a special one, since it belonged to Freya! Long time fans may recall Finn wearing one in the past in Minnesota!

Unfortunately Ludo was recently diagnosed with Diabetes, but we have his health care under control and being monitored closely by our team! Diabetes is rather rare in foxes, and this is a first for us all!

🔅Next up we have an update with Raffy! Unfortunately Raffy recently injured himself, resulting in a broken leg! He has been healing up well and is doing great!

🔅Lastly we have an update with Oshun!
Oshun is all healed up from her eye removal surgery, from several months back.
Unfortunately though, it turns out that she is diabetic as well! She is being monitored as we try out a new diet with her.

Oshun us officially ready for Halloween! Thank you all for your support!
Their combined vet bills come up to about $8,000! If you can help us cover these expenses, even a single dollar helps! If you cannot donate you can still help support the animals by watching the video, leaving a comment, and sharing!

Did you know that sunshine isn’t just comfortable, it’s good for you too?

How is sunlight beneficial to your pet?

Source of warmth:
Lying in sunshine can help your pet maintain their body temperature more easily. On cool days, sunshine helps your pet stay warmer without burning as many calories.

Antidepressant:
Like people, pets can become depressed to.
Sunshine has been proven to stimulate neurotransmitters in the brains of pets and people to help regulate a positive mood. Seasonal depression has been linked to the lack of sunlight even!

Source of vitamins:
Cats and canines cannot metabolize vitamin D directly from UVB rays, However sunlight does encourage oil secretions on the skin and coat, and when grooming themselves the animals consume these and they are a source of vitamins.

Sleep aid:
Sunlight can help produce sleep hormones such as melatonin which increase the quality of sleep.

Immune boost:
The sun can lower your susceptibility to viruses.
It has also been proven that sunshine kills bacteria and viruses!

Pain relief:
Sunshine can help with temporary relief from chronic pains such as arthritis.
