Conesus Kayakers!
We are postponing the scheduled Canadice trip.
As some of you may know, Starry Stonewort, an invasive species has been found in Conesus Lake. The CLA together with Livingston County would like to survey the extent of the presence of it in the lake and is looking for volunteers. Lake residents can assist by using kayaks or boats to perform rake tosses and search for Starry Stonewort. More to follow but let us know if you would like to volunteer!

Remember to bring a flashlight, which is required by law. Additionally we will be wearing our life jackets on this event.

The time has now come for us to leave our very active lake and travel a short distance to Hemlock Lake, which takes us back in time to a pristine atmosphere and uninhabited environment. Accordingly, the trip plan is to have a tranquil picnic paddle on an absolutely gorgeous body of water.

Where: The north boat launch of Hemlock

Saturday, June 19
Place: Meet at the NYS hand launch off West Lake Rd. (South end of Lake)
Time: Rendezvous is 10:00, Cast-off 10:30 Rain or Shine
Route: Paddle up the inlet from the NYS hand launch to Sliker Rd, ,then portage over to the swamp
Note: Be prepared to see a few of the 17 amazing birds and foliage indigenous to the wet land and only accessible by Kayak.

After our paddling hiatus last year we need to make up for lost time together on the water. Accordingly, we have been busy putting together a fun filled and exciting agenda. Once again we will kick off the season this June with the 4th Annual Kayak Poker Run, up the inlet and into the head waters of Conesus Lake (aka “The Swamp), this is a real back-to-nature trip with prizes ! In July we will be traveling to the south end of Hemlock for a family Picnic-n-Paddle and in August it is our much anticipated off the lake trip to Black Creek. Also in August will be our featured event, the Moonlight paddle, including tea candles and would you believe, Kayak Karaoke. September we’ll pack up and head over to the peace and serenity of Canadice Lake.
Schedule (All events are held on Saturday, unless noted otherwise)
