What the book sale money supports:

*Funds to provide library programs, including author events, craft activities, special vendors, and cultural events
*Summer Discovery prize books - children participating receive a free book they can keep, every summer!
*Summer Discovery kick-off events and supplies (i.e. chalk, craft supplies, refreshments)
*Summer Celebrations – entertainment, crafts, refreshments to celebrate the end of summer and
*Pan-O-Prog’s Youth Play Day – sponsoring entertainment for hundreds in the park every year, like the Bazillions, Wiggle, Jiggle & Jam & The Teddy Bear Band
*OneBook, OneLakeville – partnering to co-sponsor this annual community reads event, celebrating one special book
*ISD 194’s ECFE Fall Resource Fair and “Baby Shower” – providing board books and promoting literacy in the community
*Ready, Set, Achieve, partnering with the library and ISD194 to provide free books to youth preparing for school
*The Winter Arts Series, partnering to provide access to free fine arts classes, presented by the Lakeville Area Arts Center
*Library needs that fall outside of its budget – display shelving, iLAB supplies, stick vacuum, craft supplies, button maker for teen (and future) programming and materials
*Staff and volunteer recognition, celebrating retirements, memorials, and supports to current staff
*Purchasing materials for book kits, Dementia kits and other special collections, large print, etc. to support customers, caregivers, and community
*Scholarship/s to Friends’ volunteers
