is a congressionally chartered, 501c3, military support organization. Our mission includes supporting our active duty military and veterans, honoring the fallen and supporting each other. We actively do fundraising to support the various points of our mission. If you are a military mother in the Ionia, Kent or Montcalm County areas, or know someone who is, we would love to welcome you into our Blu

e Star Mother family and have you join us on our mission! If you are not a military mother but wish to be a part of something bigger than yourself, you can join us as an associate member! We get together the 2nd. Tuesday of each month at the American Legion in Greenville, MI. Meeting starts at 6:30 pm. Please message us for more information or if you have any questions.

Now that's a Blue Star Mother!

For , NCA salutes an incredible eight siblings who fought during in all branches of the .

In the case of the Fedele family, eight of the 11 sons would see battle. The offspring of Philip and Angelina headed to the frontlines one by one. Remarkably, every one of them returned home alive.

The brothers, eldest to youngest, were: Joseph (33), Frank (29), Nunzio (24), Vincent (22), Anthony (21), Patrick (18), Generino (Gerald) (16), Salvatore (15). (Ages as of 1941.) All brothers have now passed away and leaving a legacy of siblings to celebrate and honor their legacy.

The Fedele family was named to the New York State Veterans Hall of Fame in 2012.

9/11 parade thru downtown Lakeview, MI at 6:40pm. Sept 11, 2024.

Blue Star Mothers Chapter #188 will again sponsor a day of remembrance to remember the fallen of our military, fire and police from Michigan since September 11, 2023.

The parade will start at 6:40pm behind the middle school and will go down Lincoln Ave and end in front of the middle school for a small ceremony of remembrance.

Please join us. We don’t want to ever forget the sacrifice of the men and women that serve our country and our communities.

Just a heads up looks like we’re going to be having elections this coming month in September. So be thinking of who you would like as your new officers and don’t forget to wear uniform for swearing in afterwards.

If you live in northern Kent County, any place in Montcalm County or Ionia County, our chapter MI-188 meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month, at the American Legion Post, 1320 W. Washington, Greenville. See you there!
