Greatly appreciate the community and all who properly dispose of flags. VFW Lakeview #3701 does have a dropbox out front for flags no longer in a condition to be flown.

Again - an incredible Memorial Day service by the VFW Lakeview #3701 at the Cemetery remembering the service men and women who have passed on.

Great community comradery coming out for the service, the parade and the tractor show = 36 tractors in all.

Dwight Poulsen won the award for traveling the farthest with his 1966 Farmall - 1st 100 horse power row crop entered in memory and honor of Private First Class Mark Pontius.

Jim Ross won the oldest tractor award with his 1938 John Deere LLI.

Sponsor's choice went to Tanner Carr and his 1942 Farmall H.

Veteran's choice was given to Waylon and Jared Roberts for Waylon's entry of 1938 Allis Chambers WD entered in memory and honor of "The Chief" Chief Warrant Officer Larry Lofts.

All the tractors were amazing and we were able to give out some terrific door prizes thanks to all our generous sponsors.

Plan to join us next year as we grow the event and acknowledge our heroes!

Thank you to everyone that participated in the Memorial Day events in VFW Lakeview #3701 yesterday. If you attended the memorial service at the cemetary, came out to view the parade, or entered an antique tractor or other vehicle in the parade - Thank You!! Turning out as a community to support our veterans past and present is what makes our area so special!

We have many pics to post and will get them out in the next few days. What an amazing event and turnout!

Tomorrow, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we stand in freedom and unity.

9:00 AM // Cato Cemetery Service
10:30 AM // Lakeview Cemetery Service
11:15 AM (approx.) // Parade from the cemetery to 5th Street
11:30-2 // Tractor Show in the Kelsey Lot with Food trucks, outdoor social space, and VFW bar service.

This is more than an event, it's a tribute.
