Scarlet's Kids Foundation

Scarlet's Kids Foundation We give gifts and support to hospitalized and chronically ill children. Without these donations, serving these amazing children would not be possible.
(1)

Scarlet’s Kids Foundation was founded by Barbara Wibe, Scarlet’s mom, who spent countless days and nights bedside at Children’s Hospital with her sick baby. During her stay she discovered that the bland and boring setting of a hospital room was a difficult and challenging environment for children of all ages. So she came up with the idea to brighten a child’s day, while giving support to their fam

ilies, and soon Scarlet’s Kids was born... gifting hospitalized children & providing support and resources to families. Barbara’s ideas have blossomed, from just a few people looking to give back, to a full fledged 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. Started in February 2015, Scarlet’s Kids Foundation is committed to providing relief to underprivileged families during their child’s hospital stay with support groups, gasoline and grocery gift cards that often times come hidden in a handmade gift basket filled with toys, clothes and activities. We can only achieve these goals with the assistance of donations from members of our community. Since our organization relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses, we are asking you to consider a donation to our cause.

💗 A Scarlet’s Kids Story: Haydyn 💗

Today we had the privilege of gifting 18-year-old Haydyn from Hemet, who is recovering from a major spinal fusion surgery.

Haydyn has neurofibromatosis, and like many people with NF, she developed scoliosis. But her scoliosis had become severe enough that her spine was beginning to put pressure on her heart and other organs, making surgery necessary.

On Thursday, August 27th, Haydyn underwent spinal fusion surgery to correct her spine and protect her health. That is a HUGE surgery for anyone, but especially for an 18-year-old who should be spending this time of her life making memories, enjoying being a young adult, and looking toward her future. 💗

We wanted to put together something just for her—a little care package to remind her that while her body is working hard to heal, she can still have some fun and feel a little bit like herself.

So we put together a Teen Care Kit filled with:

💄 Makeup
💅 Nail polish & a nail stamp set
🎨 Hair chalk
🎀 Hair ties
🔑 A cute keychain
🧴 Skincare goodies
🍩 And a stuffed donut squishy toy

Her mom was kind enough to send us a photo of Haydyn with her gifts, and that photo absolutely made our day. 🥹 Thanks for letting us share your story Ashley Milholland ❤️🙏☺️

We know a stuffy, some makeup, or a bottle of nail polish can't take away the pain of surgery or make recovery happen any faster. But sometimes a little bit of happiness in the middle of something really hard can mean so much.

Haydyn, we hope these goodies give you something to smile about during your recovery. We are wishing you strength, healing, and a smooth recovery as your body adjusts to all the changes it's been through.

You've been through something incredibly difficult, and we hope you know that there are people cheering you on. You've got this, Haydyn! 🩷

And to everyone who helps support Scarlet’s Kids Foundation—YOU are what makes these moments possible. Thank you Ryan Cefaretti, Julie Sutton, Marjorie Waddell. Every donation allows us to put together gifts for kids and young people who are facing circumstances they never asked for.

💗 A Scarlet’s Kids Story: Aubrey 💗

Today was a really special because my daughter Scarlet came with me to deliver a gift. ❤️

Scarlet's Kids Foundation was inspired by Scarlet herself, so getting to watch her personally bring some comfort to another child was such a beautiful full-circle moment.

Today we met Aubrey, who is 16 and will be turning 17 next week. 🎂💗 Aubrey had been experiencing severe, uncontrollable stomach pain and needed to be taken to Rady Children’s Hospital, where she ended up staying for three days.

Her journey to the hospital was frightening in itself. On the way there, her ambulance began having mechanical problems, and they barely made it to the hospital. Thankfully, Aubrey was finally able to get the care she needed.

After several days of testing and treatment, doctors determined that her pain was caused by endometriosis. They are also concerned that the endometriosis may have spread to her intestines, which is something her doctors will continue to evaluate and treat. 💗

Thankfully, they were able to get Aubrey’s pain under control, and she was able to go home this afternoon. 🥹💕

We wanted to give Aubrey a few things to bring some comfort home with her, so today we brought her:

🧸 A BIG, cuddly stuffed teddy bear
🩷 A beautiful, soft and fluffy throw blanket
💄 A little bag filled with makeup
📖 A journal that says “You Got This” on the front

Sometimes a simple gift can't fix what someone is going through, but we hope it reminds them that someone is thinking about them, rooting for them, and wishing them well. ❤️

And for Aubrey, we hope this is the beginning of feeling better, getting answers, and having a lot fewer hospital stays in her future.

Happy almost 17th birthday, Aubrey! 🎂🩷 We are wishing you strength, healing, comfort, and so many good days ahead.

And Scarlet… thank you for reminding me why we started all of this in the first place. Watching you give back to another kid today made my mama heart so incredibly proud. ❤️

Get well soon, Aubrey. You’ve got this. 🩷🧸

💙 A Scarlet's Kids Surprise for Trevor 💙

It's hard to believe how much time has passed since we last had the privilege of blessing Trevor, who is now 14 years old. We were so happy to reconnect with his family during this chapter of his journey.

Trevor recently underwent a major spinal fusion surgery to help correct his severe kyphosis, a condition where the upper spine curves forward much more than normal. This can cause significant pain, difficulty standing upright, fatigue, and, in severe cases, can even affect breathing.

His surgery was an important step toward improving his posture, reducing pain, and giving him a healthier future.

As Trevor recovers over the next several weeks, he has something exciting to look forward to—starting high school next month! We hope this surgery helps him begin this new chapter feeling stronger and more confident.

To brighten his hospital stay, Scarlet's Kids Foundation put together a special gift filled with things we hoped would bring comfort and smiles. Trevor received 2 different LEGO set to keep his hands and mind busy, a pocket-sized word search book for quiet moments, and a cuddly gator plush to keep him company during recovery.

Trevor, we hope these gifts remind you that an entire community is cheering you on. We wish you a smooth recovery, steady healing, and an amazing start to high school. We can't wait to see all you'll accomplish!

Thank you to everyone who supports Scarlet's Kids Foundation. Because of your generosity, we're able to bring comfort, hope, and joy to children like Trevor during some of life's toughest moments.

🦄 This week, Scarlet's Kids Foundation had the privilege of bringing a little joy to a very brave little girl named Danielle. 💜

At just 3 years old, Danielle was recently diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma after months of unexplained bone pain. Despite multiple appointments where her symptoms were thought to be growing pains, her mom trusted her instincts and kept searching for answers. A simple blood test revealed severe anemia, and after additional testing, Danielle's family received the heartbreaking news that no parent is ever prepared to hear—she had cancer.

Danielle now spends many days each month receiving treatment at Rady Children's Hospital, courageously facing a journey that no child should have to endure. While her prognosis is uncertain, newer immunotherapy treatments are giving her family hope for the future.

This week, we were honored to deliver a unicorn-themed gift to brighten Danielle's day, along with a $50 gift to help her family with gas or groceries while they focus on what matters most—being by her side.

Every gift we deliver is a reminder that families facing medical crises are not alone. A stuffed animal, a favorite toy, or help with everyday expenses may seem small, but during life's hardest moments, these acts of kindness can mean the world.

❤️ If you'd like to help us continue bringing hope and comfort to children like Danielle, please consider making a tax-deductible donation. Your generosity allows us to keep delivering gifts, practical support, and encouragement to families when they need it most.

⚡A Superhero Basket for a Superhero Girl

Seven-year-old Emery from Escondido should have been thinking about recess, friends, and what to draw next — not hospital rooms and monitors.

But last week, Emery was admitted to Rady Children's Hospital with pneumonia, Influenza A, and painful oral thrush. What started as a tough illness quickly became overwhelming. She was so sick she couldn’t eat for an entire week. To help her body heal and get the nutrition she desperately needed, doctors placed an NG tube.

For a little girl who should have been running and laughing, it was a lot to carry. That’s when Scarlet’s Kids Foundation stepped in.

Last Thursday, my daughter Scarlet and I personally walked through those hospital doors carrying something a little different than medications and monitors — a very large superhero gift basket made just for Emery.

Inside were dolls, fidgets, books, erasers, signs, stickers, paints, stuffed animals, a new shirt, playing cards, and even a special teddy bear with a hidden pocket — a tiny place to keep treasures, notes, or brave little secrets. It wasn’t just a basket of toys. It was a reminder:

You are still a kid.
You are still brave.
You are still stronger than this moment.

We handed the basket to her sweet mom, hoping it would bring light into a heavy week. And it did.

Today, we’re celebrating something beautiful — Emery is now drinking her Pediasure on her own and is back at school.

From NG tubes to the classroom in just days.
From hospital monitors to morning attendance.

This is why Scarlet’s Kids exists — to bring comfort, distraction, and hope to children facing medical challenges, and to remind families they are not alone in the hardest moments.

Way to go, Emery. Your superhero strength was there all along. 💕

🌈 Wrapping Jahzara in Comfort & Color 💕

At just 11 years old, Jahzara has been facing something no child should have to endure. For reasons still unknown, she has been vomiting blood up to 12 times a day. The physical toll is unimaginable — and so is the emotional weight that comes with so many unanswered questions.

But even in the middle of all of that… Jahzara is still a bright, animal-loving girl at heart. 🐾 She loves cats, dogs, and all creatures big and small.

So that’s exactly what we sent her.

Her special package was filled with comfort, creativity, and care:

✨ A thick, cozy blanket to wrap her in warmth
🐱 A cuddly cat Squishmallow to keep her company
🌈 A Lisa Frank coloring book with bright markers
🐯 A rainbow tiger full of personality
💗 A heart-shaped keychain
💅 Nail polish for a little sparkle
🥿 Soft slippers
🎀 Hair ties and a beautiful flower hair clip with a “J” just for Jahzara
💎 A necklace and earrings
🎧 Headphones for quiet moments
🪮 A travel brush and scented lotion
🦋 A handmade zipper pouch covered in butterflies

And because hospital visits and appointments add up quickly, we are also sending $50 to help with gas or whatever her family needs most right now.

When a child is walking through something this heavy, sometimes what they need most is to feel seen. To feel remembered. To feel like someone out there cares.

Jahzara, we see you.
We are cheering for you.

And we hope every colorful, cozy piece of this gift reminds you that you are surrounded by love. 💕

Thank you to our supporters who make moments like this possible. You are bringing light into some very dark days. 🌟

❄️ Meet Esmae: A Little Lakeside Warrior Wrapped in Frozen Magic ❄️

This week, we had the honor of gifting sweet Esmae, a brave little girl from Lakeside, and her family while she’s hospitalized and fighting so much at such a young age.

Esmae is a triplet, born at just 29 weeks, and has been fighting since day one. After enduring countless surgeries and hospitalizations, she beat cancer last year—and now, once again, she’s showing the world just how strong she is.

Esmae, who's is 3 years old, was recently admitted after passing a significant amount of blood in her stool. Since then, she’s endured an endoscopy and colonoscopy, with a PIC line and CT scan next, all while battling three concurrent infections and a UTI. And through it all? She’s been an absolute trooper. 💪✨

We sent over a FROZEN-themed gift to bring a little comfort and magic into her hospital room ❄️

💙 a tea set

📚 activity books

🛌 a cozy blanket

🤖 an icy robot dragon

🎂 a play-dough cake making set

…and of course Anna and Elsa plushies—one of which you can see Esmae hugging tight 💕

In addition to the gift, Scarlet’s Kids Foundation also Venmo’d the family a small grant to help ease the financial strain that comes with extended hospital stays and medical uncertainty.

This family has been through so much, and we’re grateful to be able to show up for them in a small but meaningful way. Thank you to our community for making moments like this possible.
