The best Christmas gift ever! More than 3 years after the Camp Silver Fir access bridge was lost in the Creek Fire, the new bridge has been installed! We are grateful to our engineer and project manager, Chris Linneman from Summers Engineering for donating his expert services for over two years. Our hero of the day is Charlie Mc Elvany from Mc Elvany Inc. who also donated his time, crew and expert services. Over a three day period Mc Elvany delivered the bridge parts to the site along with his commercial excavator, excavated and set the footings, installed and assembled the bridge and completed the abutments and road transitions. We couldn’t be more grateful!

Good news everyone! Our bridge replacement plans have been approved by the Forest Service and signed by the forest supervisor! The next step is to get in the queue to have our prefab bridge constructed and installed.

We were saddened by the passing of longtime Friend of Silver Fir, Bill Semerau on May 25, 2023. Bill volunteered as a Camp Master at Camp Silver Fir every summer for many years. As a Camp Master, he hosted Scout groups when they were in camp and help to manage and maintain the camp facility. He will be missed.
