Friends of Rattlesnake Island, Lake County, CA

Friends of Rattlesnake Island, Lake County, CA Our current focus is to raise awareness and funds necessary to legally protect Rattlesnake Island (Lake County, California) from further desecration.

Friends of Rattlesnake Island is a group of concerned citizens established to assist in preserving cultural and environmental resources in Lake County and elsewhere. Bay Area billionaire John Nady, the inventor of the wireless microphone and owner of Nady Systems has began building a vacation home in this land that's been sacred to the Elem Pomo Tribe for thousands of years. The Lake County Board

of Supervisors voted 3-2 to allow Nady to desecrate this land without an EIR (Environmental Impact Report), as required by CEQA laws (California Environmental Quality Act). Nady was also granted a special extension of Lake County’s normal grading season from County Community Development Director Rick Coel to began building off-season. If you'd like to get informed about historical facts as to how this land was stolen from the Pomo and now belongs to a private land owner, please see this document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YWTppsLU8910pvnoBqlb78qYfF6xVgXuSf_9e0bPJQA/edit
