Shelby's Karma Kruisers

Shelby's Karma Kruisers This page is in support of our daughter Shelby, who is living with Cystic Fibrosis. Today, nearly half of people with CF are age 28 or older.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Just two generations ago, most children with CF didn’t live long enough to attend elementary school. Much progress has been made toward finding a cure for CF, but the CF Foundation’s work is far from over, as we continue to lose precious lives to this disease every day. My wife Angie and I are p

ersonally affected by CF, as our daughter, Shelby, was born with this disease. We have dedicated ourselves to raising money to find a cure ever since. We would be thrilled to have your support raising funds for the Great Strides walk, which will help support vital research and medical programs of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We will be walking on June 3rd at Citizens Park in Barrington, IL with a large group of my colleagues. Collectively, our team would like to raise a minimum of $3000 to support the search for a cure. You are invited to participate, if you wish. Just click on the web link to sign up, learn more about this walk, or to get the particulars, including the times and a map to the location. Here is where you can help! Please consider making a tax-deductible donation — whatever your budget will allow — to help further the Foundation’s mission to cure CF. You may send a check, made payable to the “Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,” to Angie Wedell, 31435 N Pineview Blvd Lakemoor, IL 60051. Or, you can make an online donation by clicking "Donate Now", or "Donate to a Team Member" on the web page. Please know that not only will we be grateful for your support, but so will the tens of thousands of young people who live with CF every day, including my daughter Shelby. Your contribution will enable the CF Foundation to take full advantage of the tremendous opportunities in CF research that are now on the horizon. In fact, I’m told that there is great hope for a drug that has just been proven safe and effective in nationwide clinical trials for patients with a particular form of the disease. These results demonstrate that the CF Foundation’s drug development strategy is on the right track. The only thing standing in the way of a cure is additional money to fund this lifesaving research.
