Summer Season - Update (RabunYes' last)
RABUNYES SUMMER 2026
Ecclesiastes 3; v1: “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”
The time has come for RabunYES to conclude its work. With no buildings to close or paid staff to release, the organization has always operated entirely through volunteers.
Most recently, the organization was able to purchase $600 in custom shirts for the Girl Scouts in Rabun County and we know GSA is appreciative of that contribution.
Approximately $350 is being spent on summer youth projects at the Rabun County Library, to include STEM materials for the design, construction and demonstration of working volcanos. The kids should enjoy that and other summer projects, this being our final program.
We received very nice letters from summer camp kids at 4-H who benefitted from our summer camp donations.
The RabunYES Board determined that the Five Year Plan had been substantially achieved, while demand for older-youth training seminars had declined over the past two years, with Foxfire as the one exception. Over ten successful years, RabunYES has supported many young people either directly with education and programs, or through contributions to like-minded youth organizations and their programs.
A special “thanks” goes out to our many contributors over the years. So many kids all the way up to young adults have benefited.
June 30 will be our final day, with paperwork largely completed and only a few loose ends remaining.
Eccles. 3; v2: “A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what has been planted.”
