We are now a K - 12th grade school that approaches learning through the lens of Emotional Regulation.

At Sparrow Academy, our staff is trained in trauma-informed approaches to learning. This means that we work to understand the root of problems and then develop a plan to correct the underlying cause, not just the symptoms. We guide students toward total physical, mental, and emotional development through activities which are student-centered and which focus on positive expectations and encourage i

ntrinsic motivation. At Sparrow Academy, we engage students in meaningful learning through the use of multiple intelligence and cooperative learning. Our students are guided in using technology to enhance their learning. Our program is designed to effectively incorporate outdoor learning into the curriculum, as well as providing opportunities for students to gain life skills through practical, life application lessons. Finally, at Sparrow Academy we lead students to becoming self-aware. Through guided relaxation and social skills instruction, our students learn to understand their emotions and how to manage these emotions to become well-balanced and successful citizens.

Today is double fun as we are celebrating the birthdays of Andy Roberts and Bobby Mainellis! 😀

Andy is our Middle/High School Math teacher and has been at Sparrow for 3 years. Bobby is a teacher in our ESE department who has also been with us for 3 years. They have both invested in students of Sparrow in such an incredible way and we appreciate them so much! 🎉

🎉📚 WELCOME BACK, SPARROW FAMILIES! 📚🎉

Today is the day, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome all of our amazing students back to Sparrow Academy! 💙🐦

From the moment our doors opened this morning, there has been excitement, smiles, laughter, and the anticipation of a brand-new year filled with hope and opportunity. We are already off to a fantastic start, and we believe God has incredible things in store for each of our students this year.

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we are believing for lives to be changed, confidence to grow, friendships to flourish, and every student to discover the unique purpose God has for them. At Sparrow, every child is valued, every victory is celebrated, and every day is another opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

We are so excited to share Sparrow Academy’s theme for the 2026–2027 school year:

“Imagine the Possibilities!**

Ephesians 3:20 reminds us:

"God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!" What a powerful promise! So often, when we take steps of faith, our minds immediately begin to focus on everything that could go wrong. We become consumed with the “what-ifs.”

What if it does not work?

What if we fail?

What if the challenges are greater than we expected?

What if we do not have enough?

But this passage encourages us to change the way we think about our “what-ifs.”

What if everything goes right?

What if God wants to reveal His mighty power on our behalf?

What if He is preparing miracles we cannot yet see?

What if this next season is going to be more beautiful, more fruitful, and more amazing than we ever imagined?

As we approach a new school year, we have so much to celebrate. God has brought together an incredible staff, valuable resources, a loving community, and nearly 200 students who each carry a unique purpose and story. None of this has happened by accident.Every person, every provision, every answered prayer, and every open door is evidence of God’s faithfulness to Sparrow Academy. As we look toward the future, let us imagine the possibilities of all that God still desires to do.

Imagine students discovering their God-given gifts.

Imagine children finding confidence, healing, hope, and belonging.

Imagine families experiencing renewed faith and encouragement.

Imagine classrooms filled with growth, laughter, compassion, and purpose.

Imagine lives being transformed because people chose to believe that greater things were possible.

We are so thankful for each one of you and for the role you play in this faith community. Every staff member, student, family, volunteer, donor, and supporter represents a beautiful story and a miracle that God has graciously placed within the Sparrow family.

🎉🎂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MRS. KARI DROLSHAGEN! 🎂🎉

Today, we would like to wish Mrs. Kari Drolshagen a very special and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🥳💐

This year marks Kari's third year at Sparrow Academy, and we are so incredibly blessed to have her returning to our Sparrow family! This year, Kari will be stepping into an exciting new role as our Middle/High School English Teacher, and we couldn't be more thrilled to see the impact she will make in the classroom! 📚✨
Kari also leads our Wednesday chapel services, where she does an incredible job pouring into the hearts and lives of our students and helping them grow in their faith. Her dedication, compassion, and genuine love for our students can be seen in so many areas of our school.

Kari does so much to make an incredible and lasting impact on the lives of our students, and we are deeply grateful for the gifts, heart, and passion she brings to Sparrow Academy.

As we reflect on the incredible 2025-2026 school year, our hearts are filled with gratitude! ❤️

This year has been filled with so many victories, growth moments, breakthroughs, and achievements for our students. We have watched children gain confidence, overcome challenges, grow academically, and discover just how valuable they are. Every success story reminds us why Sparrow Academy exists.
As we look ahead to the 2026-2027 school year, we are excited to be expanding our reach and upgrading our facility to make room for even more students and families who need the unique, trauma-informed, Christ-centered education that Sparrow Academy provides.

This summer, we are working to raise $30,000 for important classroom renovations and campus improvements that will help us better serve our growing student population.

As we come to the close of another amazing year at Sparrow Academy, our hearts are filled with gratitude and inspiration as we reflect on all the incredible achievements our students made this year. 🌟

Our closing ceremony was such a beautiful time of celebration with our students and their families — honoring growth, hard work, perseverance, and so many special memories made along the way.

We are excited and expectant for all the great things ahead next year, and we are so thankful for each family, student, and supporter who makes up our wonderful Sparrow community. ❤️

As we draw near to the close of another incredible school year, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for the amazing year we have shared together! From academic growth to special memories, student achievements, and countless victories along the way — God has truly been faithful every step of the journey.
We would love to invite all of you to join us for our End of Year Program this Friday night, May 22nd at 6:00 PM in the sanctuary of New Life Lakeland as we celebrate all that our students have accomplished this year!

✨ As we wrap up an incredible 2025–2026 school year, we have some important events for our Sparrow families to mark on their calendars this week! ✨

Our first special event is our Family Chapel happening THIS Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary of New Life Lakeland.

During this meaningful time together, each student will receive individual class awards presented by their teachers, and we will also be announcing the winners of our Fine Arts Contest! 🎨🏆

What a beautiful way to celebrate all the growth, creativity, hard work, and memories made throughout this school year. We cannot wait to gather together as a school family and honor our amazing students!

We are looking forward to seeing YOU this Wednesday! 💙✨
