Camp Fire Sunshine is here throughout the year providing meaningful and formative programs for youth in Kindergarten – 12th grade. From after school enrichment, to summer day camps, to day-long service projects, to camping weekends, you never know what the day may hold at Camp Fire!
Our mission of inclusivity means that we strive to make our programming accessible to youth from all different backgrounds, including those who might not be able to afford our programs outright. The generosity of our community allows us to scholarship students who would otherwise not be able to participate due to financial restraint, but thrive in our programming.
Take Mia for example. Mia has been able to spend the last 3 summers and the first half of this year’s eSchool semester at Camp Fire thanks to amazing support from our Camp Fire friends and family. Mia is shy around her peers but very talkative and witty once she feels comfortable. She’s a creative and silly 8-year-old who is very well behaved and enjoys telling stories. She spends most of her time in the care of her great grandparents, and her financial support is strained. But because of the scholarship funds we had available, we were able to cover 50% of Mia’s program fees so her family didn’t have to worry about whether they’d be able to afford for her to come participate where she was comfortable.
As the holidays draw closer and 2021 comes into view, we ask you to donate to Camp Fire Sunshine, so that we may continue to help young people like Mia find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are! You can support by giving directly at campfire-sunshine.org, or, you can give to our GiveWell Fund at givecf.org/camp-fire-sunshine-central-florida.
