In Ms. Riveras Business Technology and Career Planning class, students are able to take a short brain break and plug into something completely different from their daily work while still building problem solving skills and a strong team mindset.
As part of Social Emotional Learning, these moments give students the opportunity to collaborate, communicate, and support one another in a low stress environment.
Here, students are working at our LEGO table with the goal of building a mechanical typewriter. Students must work together to follow directions, communicate, and problem solve as a team. If the build is not done correctly, it will not function, so every role matters and every piece counts.
Activities like this support critical thinking, creativity, and hand dexterity, all while giving students a chance to take a deep breath and step away from the screen.
These moments allow students to reset, recharge, and return to learning with a fresh mindset.
