OPEN LETTER FROM COTC
This is an email announcement regarding Sea Cadet Advanced Training's that were just funded yesterday. The plan is to offer Advanced Open Water Diver Certification for any Cadet/Officer that has their OWD certification already. We are also offering Open Water Diver Certification for Cadets/Officer who do not have any Scuba Certification at this point. Each include all equipment, academics, and five open water dives for each training. Each Cadet will be certified in CPR, AED, First Aid, Advanced Swimming Instruction, and Stroke Treatment. We will visit Fort Desoto, the SS American Victory, the Largo Military Museum and more. In the past, the cost as been $620 to do the certification locally. The Sea Cadet Camp is $240 for two weeks of room and meals and the Scuba Certification is $60.00 more. For that, everything is included and the Cadets/Officers are provided with professional fins, mask, snorkel, dive bag, and a log book! Spaces are limited and both Navy League Cadets and Sea Cadets are welcome!

We are also offering one week Field Medical, MAA, Photo Journalism, and Culinary Arts Training. Culinary Arts Cadets will be able to sign up for one week or two, but another training is mixed in so they are not just cooking!

Please forward this on FB to anyone/everyone you know. We need Officers, Instructors, Adult Volunteers, and Staff Cadets as well as Navy League and Sea Cadets.

Please contact me if you have questions and get those orders coming!!

Very Respectfully,

LT Russ Cowper, NSCC

Great drill this weekend! Pictures coming soon. Congratulations to Cadet Gary Harris for earning the League Cadet of the Year! Also, congratulations to Cadets Robert Decker, Seth Harris, Douglas Davis, and Casey Harris on their promotion to PO3 after passing the PO2/PO3 test. Congratulations go out to PO3 Casey Harris for earning Sea Cadet of the Year. Thank you to the American Victory unit for all their help, especially the martial arts and the BBQ grilled chicken. Next drill 2-3 JUN will be a lot of fun. We will be doing the boating course and then taking the boat and jet ski out on the lake. There is a good possibility we will be staying overnight which would include fun, games and a very special Flag Retirement Ceremony. Watch this site for more info. Mark your calendars now!
