From Nancy Nancy Gould:

We had a great turnout at the Dog Park meeting yesterday held in the Oak Room. There were 23 pet parents who attended. We had lively, productive discussions about the dog park and where do we go from here. Volunteers signed up for grounds maintenance, donation ideas, and baking!
It was decided to have monthly meetings initially to maintain the excitement of our commitment to improving the dog park.

A special thank you to Janice Simmons! Thank you all! 🐕🐾🐕🐾

We need your support. In an effort to get the large dog facilities up to the standards of the small dog facility, we need your support. In the early years of the dog park, doggy parents had mostly small dogs. We did fund raisers and collected funds to enlarge the pavilion and enlarge the concrete under it. It just didn’t happen by itself Those involved petitioned the HOA and management to help out and they did, provided we also chipped in with monies and labor. We got it done.

As the park raised the rules on dog breeds and sizes it became apparent that we needed to keep the big dogs and little dogs separate. Not all sizes get along. We appealed again for volunteers, donations and funds from anyone who could help. Management gave us the section of land and helped with funding for the fences. Those volunteers from the earlier build put up the upper pavilion and we had the start of a large dog park.

There are now a lot of larger dogs and large dog parents who would like a larger pavilion and more concrete to not have to sit in the mud and dirt.

Nancy Gould has led the charge to raise funds for more concrete and needs all your help in the form of donations, appeals to management and volunteer labor when the time comes. Management supports the cause for the most part as it is a great selling point to new dog parent homeowners. However, they want us to have ownership in the process as well.

I was part of the early years and donated money and labor. My dogs, Yorkies, have large dog issues so we don’t get to the park too often but we support it’s being a value added part of our community. Hopefully you can see the value and be part of making the dog park your dog park. Let Nancy know how you can help and let’s make OUR dog park better for all who use it.

Why must I take my dog out of my yard when a neighbor chooses to walk his large dog by me and cause my dogs to go beserk! Come on friend, can’t we choose another path? First time ok; 10 time not ok.

Taking your pooch out for a stroll? Use these guidelines to ensure a great experience for your whole neighborhood's dog-walking community!

It’s getting to be that time where you need to be concerned with your little friends paws and the hot road. Take your hand as illustrated or your bare foot, even better, and put it on the road. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your pups.

I am looking for someone to take over the Cypress Lakes Dog Park page which I created. I do not go to the dog park at this point and would like someone who’s overseeing it to take over the page. Message me and we can discuss it!
