The summer program will explore the many “hats” (careers) of aviation with the theme: Hats Off to Aviation. There will be lots of singing, dancing, and stories, so come and join the fun. Silly hats are encouraged! 🤠

What makes the large mammals of Florida unique? Join Bonnet Springs Park to discover the similarities and differences between Florida black bears and panthers.

Learn about ways to protect them with the Florida Department of Transportation’s State Wildlife Crossings and build a model wildlife crossing bridge. This event is free and open to guests of all ages with adult supervision.

🐻️ The Florida Air Museum is hosting a free Stuffed Animal Flight School — and sign ups are open now!

🐻 Here's how it works:
Your child brings their favorite stuffed animal to orientation, watches a presentation about what their animal will be "doing" during training, and says goodbye with a keepsake photo.

The next morning, they return to pick up a newly certified pilot — complete with a pilot certificate, a logbook for future flights, and a set of wings for both the animal and the child.

Sessions are July 27 and 28
FREE but space is limited, so don't wait to reserve your spot.

Two free programs happening in Lake Wales this month for little ones.

The Carol Jenkins Barnett United Way Children's Resource Center is hosting:

📚 Summer Book Club - Wednesdays in June, 11:00-11:45 AM
For kids entering Kindergarten or VPK (must be 4 by Sept. 1). Each session includes a read-aloud, activity, and song based on a popular children's book. Families go home with a copy of the featured book plus take-home activities. One sibling may attend.

👶 New Parent Support Group - Wednesdays in June (June 10, 17 & 24), 9:00 AM
A facilitator covers feeding, sleeping, and bonding basics while you connect with other new parents. Attending families receive a free day pass to the Lake Wales Family Recreation Center.

Both programs are held at the Lake Wales Family Recreation Center, 1001 Burns Avenue, Lake Wales.
