We are saddened to share the passing of Patricia Ann Edleman, former Executive Officer of the Polk County Builders Association and a true leader in our industry.

The time and knowledge she generously volunteered made not only a lasting but also an inspiring impact on PCBA and the Polk County community.

Her legacy will not be forgotten, and we extend our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Last week, our Foundation team had the privilege of helping our local Construction Academy students at Bartow High School prepare for this week's NAHB IBS Student Competition at the International Builders' Show.

We are so proud of these students for how hard they work to be the best they can. And we especially want to thank their passionate instructor, Jimmy Giles, who continues to make an impact on these students each and every day!

Please join us in wishing them the best of luck as they compete against students from across the country, showcasing their skills through a construction management project. We’re confident they’ll bring home another trophy! 🏆

The PCBA Foundation is proud to be supporting the LPD PAL Summer Trades Camp again in 2026!

This free, two-week camp introduces high school students to careers in the building trades with hands-on experience in areas like carpentry, electrical, plumbing, roofing, architecture, and more, all taught by industry professionals.

They're currently looking for donations and mentors to help make this camp possible and give students an even greater learning opportunity.

Residents are invited to a public meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24 to review the master plan and proposed programming for the new Polk County Agricultural Center in Bartow. The meeting will be held at the W.H. Stuart Center, 1710 U.S. Highway 17 S., Bartow.

The center is planned for the area near U.S. Highway 98 and Homeland–Garfield Road in Bartow. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the project and provide feedback.

Another successful Hard Hat Happy Hour is officially in the books! Thank you to Anchor Building Group for sponsoring such a great evening at Duke's Brewhouse Lakeland.

We loved seeing everyone come out to connect and unwind. Such a good night full of networking, great food, cold drinks, and some funny karaoke moments. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the night so fun, including those who kept the karaoke going!

Kim and Ricky with the Anchor team put together a couple of bottles to raffle off. Frankly Bartending also surprised us with a $400 service discount for the raffle. Congrats to all the winners!
