National Night Out was a huge success! 🚔💙

Our Explorers traveled throughout the City of Lakeland, attending 12 different National Night Out events! Along the way, they connected with community members, answered questions about the Explorer Program, and represented the Lakeland Police Department with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support National Night Out and help strengthen the partnership between law enforcement and our community. We’re already looking forward to next year!

🎓🚔 Congratulations to Explorer Walker and Explorer Henderson on successfully completing the Lakeland Police Department Ride-Along Academy!

Through dedication and hard work, they completed all academy requirements, including CPR certification, passing their Codes & Signals test, and fulfilling the required hours for the Explorer Program.

Their commitment to learning and gaining firsthand law enforcement experience continues to set a great example for our post. We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing their continued growth as Explorers!

A huge thank you to the Lakeland Police Department Employee Association for hosting this year’s Summer Bash at Skate World! 🛼☀️

Our Explorers had a great time hanging out with friends and family from the department and enjoying a well-deserved night of fun. After countless hours of training, competing at state, and serving our community, it was nice to celebrate all of their hard work.

We appreciate everything our Explorers do for the Lakeland Police Department and the community! 🚔💙

There will be no official Lakeland Police Explorers meeting on Monday, July 20th.

Our next meeting will be held on Monday, July 27th at 5:00 PM at the Lakeland Police Department Training Center.

🚔 Physical Agility Test (PAT) 🚔

Our Lakeland Police Explorers took on the Physical Agility Test (PAT), a series of challenging tasks designed to assess the physical capabilities required in law enforcement.

The event consisted of a 150-pound sled pull, a 440-yard run, and an obstacle course. We are proud to share that all six members of our State Competition Team successfully completed the course and gave it their all!

• Explorer C. Doughty – 3:19
• Explorer Theo Williams – 3:22
• Explorer C. Mitchell-Marr – 5:02
• Explorer A. Henderson – 5:11

Great job to each of these Explorers for demonstrating determination, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. Your hard work continues to make Post 602 proud!

Last week, the Lakeland Police Department Explorer Post 602 had the opportunity to assist our neighboring agency, the Auburndale Police Department, during Active Shooter Training.

Our Explorers served as role-players throughout the scenarios and gained valuable experience observing law enforcement tactics, teamwork, and response procedures in a realistic training environment.

A huge thank you to the Auburndale Police Department and the Auburndale Explorer Post for allowing our Explorers to be part of this outstanding training opportunity. Experiences like these help prepare the next generation of law enforcement professionals. 🚔

🏆 3rd Place in the State! 🚔

Please join us in congratulating Lakeland Police Explorer Post 602 on an incredible performance at the Florida Association of Police Explorers State Competition!

Competing against 37 law enforcement agencies from across Florida, our Explorers demonstrated teamwork, professionalism, leadership, and determination throughout a week of demanding law enforcement scenarios.

🥉3rd Place Overall – Out of 37 Agencies
🥉3rd Place – Tiebreaker (Home Invasion Scenario)
🏅 4th Place – Crime Scene Investigation

This achievement is the result of countless hours of training, preparation, and dedication by these outstanding young men and women. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented the Lakeland Police Department and our community.

A special thank you to our Explorer Advisors and department administration for their continued support and commitment to the success of this program.
