The reason for my candidacy is I have a distinct vision to move the office of Recording Secretary into the 21st century. In doing so, I want to ensure all of the duties associated with the office are fulfilled in their entirety. Those of you who know me, know that I am not afraid to speak my mind when things are not being done properly. I am not afraid to question authority when I feel members are not being treated as they should be, and that goes for the officers of this branch fulfilling their office's as well.
I truly believe to ensure the survival of our Union, the membership must be educated with all of the proceedings of the branch. It is the responsibility of the Recording Secretary to make certain the membership is provided an accurate record of the business of the Branch, as well as other important obligations. This is OUR branch and we need to know every detail of what is being done concerning branch dealings. I saw this was not being done as well as it should be, therefore I decided the best way to fix that is to do it myself. With that said, I decided to accept the nomination for the office of Recording Secretary! I have also now been officially endorsed by John Mitchell (President), and Barbara Meurer (Trustee).
The time for change is now, and I am asking for your vote in this election. Status quo is not good enough for Branch 1779! The members deserve someone who is willing to go the extra mile and push the envelope, and I am asking you to make me that someone.
