The Veterans Ranch works with Veterans and their families through equine therapy free of charge.

This allows them to start laying down heavy coats of burden and walk off as a new and improved version of themselves.

Today is not about the mattress sales.
It is not about the car deals.
It is not about cookouts, long weekends, or online shopping discounts.

Today is about the empty chair at the dinner table.

It is about the mother who still cries when nobody is watching.
The father who carries a folded flag instead of his child.
The husband or wife forced to learn how to live after hearing the words:
“We regret to inform you…”

Today is about the men and women who never made it home.

The ones who kissed their families goodbye and unknowingly did it for the last time.
The ones who carried our flag into places most Americans will never fully understand.
The ones who gave their last full measure of devotion so this nation could remain free.

Freedom is not free.
It never has been.

Every freedom we enjoy today was paid for by someone who wore the uniform of this country and never got to come home to enjoy the life they protected for the rest of us.

So yes… enjoy your family today.
Laugh together. Hug your children. Sit around the table. Enjoy the peace that so many fought to preserve.

But PLEASE…
Never forget WHY you are able to do those things.

Take a moment today.
Be still.
Pray for our fallen heroes.
Pray for the Gold Star Families carrying a pain words cannot describe.
And remember those who sacrificed everything for people they would never meet.

This Memorial Day weekend, we remember the heroes who never made it home.
The boots that stopped walking beside us.

The dreams, families, and futures sacrificed for a country they loved.

For many, Memorial Day is marked by cookouts, travel, and celebration.
But for Gold Star families, brothers and sisters in arms, and countless veterans… it is also marked by absence.

An empty chair at the table.
A folded flag carefully held.
A name etched into the heart forever.

Freedom has always carried a cost.
And somewhere tonight, someone is still carrying the weight of that loss.

At The Veterans Ranch, we honor not only those who gave everything, but also those left behind to carry their memory forward. We remember them in the quiet moments, in the stories told, and in the lives we choose to live because of their sacrifice.
