PunchWorX Boxer Highlight: Nancy Snyder 🥊
Thank you Nancy for sharing your story with us you are a blessing 🥰
I was born in Akron, Ohio. Moved to Lakeland when I was 6 years old, in first grade. My parents had a shoe store on Kentucky Avenue in downtown Lakeland.
May 14* will be my first anniversary with PunchWorX, it's hard to believe! I enjoy working together with others in class so we can be stronger & encourage one another.
The coaches are very caring, encouraging, and helpful. They adapt the exercises to help each of us when we struggle in certain areas, yet want to push us and encourage us to work hard. The classes are work, and when class is over, I always feel better, tired but better!
I was having tremors in my left hand and foot, which I thought were due to medication, but the tremor continued after discontinuing the medication. I was referred to the University of Florida in January 2025, had a Dat Scan, and was diagnosed with PD on March 3, 2025.
I am so thankful that God knew all of this and the diagnosis, and I know he is in control even in the difficult times of our lives. Knowing this encourages me to continue to trust his plan for my life.
PunchWorx has played a very important part in my life in the last year. I have a group of friends I would never have had because of the incredible coaches and members of the classes. I have been a Lakeland resident for many years and taught at Lakeland Christian School for over 30 years. I have made incredible connections through PunchWorX and Facebook that have reconnected me with former students and parents who are somehow connected to this journey of Parkinson's.
May I share one of my life Bible verses with you?
"My flesh and my heart faileth, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
