Tom Day🥊
Thomas Day was raised in Queens Village, New York, and moved to Lakeland, Florida, in June 1977. Soon after, he began what would become a remarkable 32-year career with the Lakeland Police Department.
For the past eight months, Thomas has been part of the PunchWorx community, where he has found more than just great workouts. He enjoys the energy, encouragement, and camaraderie of the participants, as well as the knowledgeable, kind, and caring coaches who help make every session meaningful.
PunchWorx has helped him stay motivated, focused, and ready to keep fighting forward.
Lakeland has been a wonderful place for Thomas and his wife, Lourdes, to raise their three children. His career with LPD offered many opportunities and unforgettable experiences. He began in patrol, but his drive for action and specialized service led him to the motorcycle squad, SWAT, and K9. During his K9 years, he worked alongside two loyal dog partners, Wolf and Zeus, who not only helped fight crime but also became beloved members of the Day family. Before retiring, Thomas was promoted to Captain and oversaw the patrol division.
A lifelong competitor, Thomas, has always loved sports and fitness. He has run numerous races and completed three 140-mile Ironman triathlons-swim, bike, and run—in Texas, New York, and New Zealand. Today, he continues to stay active through exercise and enjoys another longtime passion: muscle cars.
