The Katie Turney Memorial Book Fund Each year we like to honor Katie's birthday (August 15, 1997) by raising money for her memorial book fund that is gifted to Durant High School Library.

"Nothing beautiful in this world is ever really lost." On August 16, 2013, the day after her 16th birthday, Katie unexpectedly passed away. Life for her family and friends has never been the same. Katie's short but vibrant life, her angelic light, radiant smile and infectious laugh continue to bring joy to our hearts. The support from family and friends has been incredible. We are so touched and grateful to all. Katie's love of books and reading has inspired us to raise funds each year for The Katie Turney Memorial Book Fund. In doing so, we hope to ensure Katie's memory lives on through books and reading well into the future. Thank you so much for your continued love and support. With love & blessings,
Team Katie
