The last 24 hours was rough. Our nonprofit Out Of The Way Community Corp.’s outdoor pantry fridge in front of our Café broke yesterday. I was already behind in my responsibilities before that. But then I realized

A whole group came together to make the fridge replacement happen in less than 24 hours by upcycling perfectly good fridges where two locals got new ones… without costing us or them a dime 🥹 We ended up with 2 fridges!! So we gave one away to a local, scrapped the old one through a local and then, another group got the pantry reset back to normal. People from all walks of life coming together for a common goal… to make someone else’s day a little bit easier.

My community always comes together in ways I have never seen before. It’s why I jumped in helping in any way possible the moment we moved here. I love this place. It’s like a hallmark movie and even on the worst day… I couldn’t imagine a better place to live.

We will be stocking our fridge with Lizabeth’s homemade meals, fresh eggs from Virginia, Dawn & Clay, Erica & Shane, Beth, Marie & more, water, and fresh produce 3 times a week from River City Produce Co., Inc. thanks to Kynelle for picking it up weekly! Today’s restock was extra packed with greatness!

Cost wise it’ll be $35-$40 weekly. We want everyone to have access to good food. If you need more help than the 24/7 self serve pantry has to offer… check out the food box option available for LOCALS ONLY at OutOfTheWayCommunity•Com ❤️
