Lake Zurich teens start nonprofit organization, Tutor4Service, offering free tutoring sessions, holding food drives and providing seniors and hospital patients with free virtual music concerts.

Thank you very much SOS Children’s Villages for the kind words and for giving us these opportunities!!!

A group of seniors from Lake Zurich High School are not letting the pandemic stop them from helping others. They conducted a food drive to support our families and now a fundraiser to purchase essential and education-related supplies for our children. We are so grateful to have this support. Congratulations to these amazing young people.

Tutor4Service has successfully completed its Educational and Essential Supplies Fundraiser!Thank you all so much for the generous support to our cause; we were able to exceed our initial goal of $2,500 and raise $2,800! Using the money we raised, we donated to the SOS Children’s Village Foster Homes in Chicago, the Shelter Inc. Homeless Shelter and Emergency Group Homes in Arlington Heights, and the Auberge Memory Care and Assisted Living Homes in Lake Zurich. We were so blessed and fortunate to donate to them!

Through your donations, we were able to give these organizations various essential items such as masks, toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer, soap, personal hygiene products, and disinfectant wipes. Along with this, we were very excited to purchase over 100 new books for the children, books such as the Dogman Series, Elephant & Piggie Books, The Ravens Boys, Harry Potter, and so much more!!! We hope that sharing these books with them will allow them to experience the joy of reading and light up their minds! We wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday season and we are so happy to be a part of such an amazing community!!

Tutor4Service is now conducting an Essential Items Fundraiser in order to raise money to buy books, school supplies, and a variety of essential items to donate to the SOS Children’s Village Foster Homes in Chicago and the Shelter Inc. Homeless, Foster, and Emergency Care Shelters in Arlington Heights.

During this pandemic time, many children and families are struggling to afford basic needs such as toilet paper, masks, hand sanitizer, paper towels, soap, shampoo, etc., and educational resources such as books, pencils, pens, notebooks, etc. for their schooling, so assisting them is imperative to our mission.

We are happy to announce Tutor4Service has received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (Gold)! Thank you very much to all of our tutors that continue to work hard and volunteer their time to tutor our kids! This would not have been possible without them!

Starting this way back in April 2020, we did not have any expectations for ourselves. However, 4 months later, here we are with over 300+ tutoring hours, over 30 kids tutored, and continuing our journey! We are so humbled to continually be able to provide help to all of these kids and personally connect with them through the power of education.
