LAKE WYLIE, SC β May 28, 2026 β The River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club announced today that it has awarded significant grant funding over the past year to support vital community programs and area non-profit organizations.
Jerry Epping, the Chair of the River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club Finance Committee, noted that through the collaborative efforts of the Club and the River Hills Lake Wylie Community Foundation, substantial funds were raised over the last year. "These resources allow us to give grants to over fifteen charities serving our local area and support key Lions Club programs such as KidSight, Roaring Readers, Vision needs, and Scholarship Awards" Epping said.
The River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club raises these funds through annual community fundraisers, including the annual Golf Tournament, Breakfast with Santa, Run For Life, Tidal Wave Charity Day, The Directory, and various Raffles. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised from these events are deposited directly into the Charities account to maximize community impact. None of this would be possible without the generous support of our local sponsors.
The River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, is a local chapter of Lions Clubs International, the worldβs largest service club organization. The chapter is strictly dedicated to supporting the eight global causes of Lions Clubs International: which include diabetes, vision, hunger, childhood cancer, the environment, youth, disaster relief, and humanitarian efforts.
