𝗜𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀! 🍦🧡

Four new Women's Table Banking groups could soon get started in Kenya, thanks to a recent Ice Cream Social fundraiser!

The event raised $400, exceeding its $300 goal, and here's what that support could make possible:

🟠 4 new groups, each with $100 in starting funds.

🟠 Around 48 women gaining access to shared savings and small loans.

🟠 More opportunities, whether women choose individual loans or pool their resources to invest in something together.

With guidance from our local partner, Dupoto Flourish Africa, the women run their own groups, manage their shared funds, and decide what opportunities to pursue.

A big thank-you to Buyers Edge Platform, EstabliSHEd, and Wells Enterprises Blue Bunny for bringing the Ice Cream Social to life, and to everyone who contributed!

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭𝟮 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻! 🧡

What started as group savings is turning into a new business in Kenya!

Through GO Fund's Women's Table Banking program, run with our local partner Dupoto Flourish Africa , women save money together and can borrow from their shared fund.

But the Flourishers Women Group had a different idea: why not pool their savings to start a chair and tent rental business?

And they're already making it happen!

🟠 12 chairs purchased with their own savings.

🟠 12 more chairs planned next.

🟠 50+ chairs and an event tent is their goal!

Those first 12 chairs are the beginning of a business the women planned, funded, and will build together. 🧡

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆? 💧

A lot more than drilling a well!

In Ghana, the Debbie Ann Deutsch Water Project is making progress toward bringing reliable, clean water to more than 25,800 people across five communities.

Here's how the water systems are taking shape:

🟠 Step 1: Drilling. The team drills to reach an underground water source.

🟠 Step 2: Foundations. Concrete foundations are laid to support the new structures.

🟠 Step 3: Pump control houses. These are now being built to house and protect the pumping equipment.

🟠 Step 4: Water tanks and taps. Next, tanks will be installed above the structures, with taps outside where community members can collect water.

From drilling underground to building above ground, each step brings these five communities closer to reliable access to clean water.

Our first gala will support Pathfinder School in Asebu, Ghana, a longtime GO Fund partner that now serves more than 300 students, including children from Home for Hope.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝘄 🧡

Recently, we received handwritten letters from students in Sew for Sisterhood, a sewing and entrepreneurship program run with our local partner, Dupoto Flourish Africa, in Kenya.

One came from Bahati.

She wrote about how the other girls in her class encourage one another and how her confidence has grown since joining the program.

Toward the end of her letter, she shared something that stayed with us:

“Because of Sisterhood, am not just learning how to stitch clothes. I am learning how to be a better person.”

Sew for Sisterhood teaches practical skills. But Bahati’s letter shows something else happening too: girls are learning together, encouraging one another, and growing in confidence. 🧡

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱?

For women in GO Fund’s Table Banking program in Ghana, the answer looks different for everyone.

Together with our local partner, Alliance for Youth Development, the program works with women in Musunkwa and Gyabankrom, providing small loans (currently about US$100 each) to help women start or grow businesses.

When we recently interviewed women in the program, we heard about all kinds of businesses:

🟠 Charcoal
🟠 Corn dough
🟠 Eggs
🟠 Food vending

But we also heard something these stories had in common.

Many women chose to use the income they earned to support their families... from paying school fees to helping with everyday needs.

In 2025, 227 women participated in the program.

The women know what they can sell. They know what their families need. Table banking gives them another way to access the money they need to put those ideas to work. 🧡

🧡 𝗘𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼, 𝘄𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗢 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮.

Today, 𝟱 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, with three continuing their education at boarding schools: one in primary school and two in secondary school.

We’re also encouraged by the 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 Dupoto Flourish Africa 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

🟠 The Children’s Department recently helped 𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, with the government facilitating the process and costs.

🟠 During a recent inspection, officials also confirmed that the Center had 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗺𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

🟠 As part of this wider work to protect and support girls, Dupoto Flourish Africa Director Kefa also attended a workshop on 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 through community-led mindset change.

Strong local partnerships like this help build 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 over the long term.

We’re proud of the progress and excited for what comes next. 🧡

🧡 Work is officially underway on the Debbie Ann Deutsch Water Project.

Construction has begun on a mechanized water project that will bring reliable, clean water to more than 25,800 people across five communities in Ghana.

After our local partner, Alliance for Youth Development (AYD), identified access to clean water as a community priority, Tyler Deutsch chose to fund the project in memory of his mother, Debbie Ann Deutsch.

💬 When asked why, Tyler shared:
"When you lose a parent as a child, I think you hold on to the parts of them that impacted you most. For me, that was my mom's kindness and her unwavering generosity toward others.

It's hard to believe it's been 28 years since she passed away, but I still carry those lessons with me every day. As I look at the impact this project will have on thousands of people, I can't help but think she would be incredibly proud. Not because my name is attached to it, but because it reflects the values she lived by, helping others, leading with compassion, and leaving the world a little better than she found it.

I hope this project honors her memory in a small way. I know she'd be proud."

🧡 Our local partner has now broken ground in Katakyiase, Batanyaa, and Edumfa.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦. 🧡

When Joseph was a student at Pathfinder School, one of his teachers asked the class a simple question: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐩?

Joseph remembers looking around the room.
🧡 "Every other child had an answer. I didn't. I had never allowed myself to dream because I was just trying to survive."

With the love and support of Home for Hope and Pathfinder School, that began to change.
🧡 "They gave me hope. They gave me a family. They gave me the confidence to dream about my future."

Today, Joseph is a university graduate with a degree in Social Work. He now leads Bright Minds Foundation, helping support children in the same community that once supported him.
