In celebration of this June, we're spotlighting Keala R. ( ) and her Gold Award project, Caddie-Golf Junior Program ⛳💚

As a golfer and junior caddie herself, Keala noticed that girls were often underrepresented in the sport, especially in caddie programs. She wanted more young women to see golf as an accessible opportunity to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and gain valuable real-world experience.

Working with The First Tee of The Palm Beaches, Keala created a series of educational videos introducing girls to the game of golf and the role of a caddie. Her videos covered golf fundamentals, course etiquette, equipment, and the responsibilities and benefits of caddying, while also challenging stereotypes about girls in the sport. She shared these resources through schools, community organizations, and local golf programs, reaching young people throughout Palm Beach County. Survey results showed increased knowledge and interest in both golf and caddying, and her outreach even inspired two new female junior caddies to join her home course. Through her project, Keala is helping open doors for the next generation of girls in golf 🏌️‍♀️✨

We're so excited to welcome our overnight campers to Camp Welaka starting TOMORROW! ☀️⛺

Before the fun begins, our camp team spent the past week preparing for an amazing summer. As part of staff training, Alyssa Payne from Palm Beach County Youth Services Department led a Social Development in Girls workshop, helping our team better understand how to support girls at every stage of their development.

Whether it's building confidence, navigating challenges, making new friends, or trying something new, our staff is ready to create a safe, supportive, and fun camp experience for every girl who joins us this summer 💚🌿🌼

This , we're celebrating Jupiter Service Unit's recent Flag Ceremony Training at Camp Welaka! 🇺🇸✨

Nearly 50 attendees came together to learn the traditions and protocols behind respectful flag ceremonies. Local military veterans shared their knowledge and experience, helping the group build confidence in leading these meaningful ceremonies.

Many volunteers and Girl Scouts participate in flag ceremonies throughout the year, but opportunities like this help build the confidence to lead them with pride. Thanks to this training, more Leaders and girls are prepared to incorporate meaningful flag ceremonies into camping, events, and community gatherings!

Jupiter's trainees didn't have to wait long to use their new skills. Many helped lead flag ceremonies at Jupiter Service Unit's Camporee just a few weeks later! 🇺🇸
