Congratulations to the 2026 Silver Award Class! ✨ We're so proud to celebrate 59 Girl Scouts who earned the Girl Scout Silver Award this year, the highest honor a Girl Scout Cadette can achieve! 🤍

Together, these Girl Scouts dedicated over 3,000 hours of service to completing 30 impactful projects that supported nonprofits, schools, animal rescues, beaches, and communities across Southeast Florida. Their projects tackled important issues like mental health, food insecurity, animal welfare, environmental sustainability, driving safety, and caring for our aging populations.

From identifying challenges in their communities to creating lasting solutions, these Girl Scouts have shown what it means to lead with courage, compassion, and creativity.

Join us in giving the 2026 Silver Award Girl Scouts a big round of applause for their incredible achievements and commitment to making the world a better place! 👏💚

As college application season and early decision deadlines approach, we're spotlighting K’Yahna B. ( ) and her Gold Award project, NextStepZ 🎓✨

K’Yahna recognized that many teens face uncertainty when planning their futures after high school, often without access to clear, personalized guidance. From navigating college applications and financial aid to exploring career pathways, she saw a gap that left students feeling overwhelmed and underprepared. Determined to change that, she created a series of four hands-on workshops designed to give students practical tools and real support as they prepare for what’s next.

Each workshop welcomed around 40 students and focused on key topics like completing college applications, writing strong essays, building resumes, and identifying scholarship opportunities. Beyond the activities, K’Yahna built a space for honest conversation where students could ask questions, share concerns, and feel supported in their goals. Participants left with completed work and renewed confidence, with 100% reporting they learned something new and felt more prepared for their future. To extend her impact, she also launched a Discord community, Instagram page, website, and YouTube channel, creating ongoing access to resources and support for students beyond the workshops 📚💻

We’re excited to share the next steps in the professional Girl Scout journeys for GSSEF team members, Brielle Rivera and Jessica Acosta.

Brielle Rivera is now the council’s Vice President of Mission Design. She joined the GSSEF team in 2019 as a Community Manager, where she was responsible for recruitment, troop formation, and volunteer support in 2019. In 2022, she was promoted to Director of Product Sales, where she provided leadership for our most popular program. In this new role, Brielle will bring her vision, spirit, and eye for innovation to our membership recruitment, girl program experience, volunteer engagement, and product sales teams.

Jessica Acosta joined our team in 2024 as the Associate Director of Product Sales and will now bring her energy, insights, and talents to her new role as Director of Product Sales. We look forward to her continued leadership and contributions.

A little library with a big impact! 📚💚 After learning about how stories can connect us to different cultures and experiences, decided to create something special for their community: their very own Little Free Library! They worked together to build and decorate it with their handprints, camp names, and troop number.

With help from the City of Port St. Lucie - City Hall Parks and Recreation Department, their library is now officially installed at Girl Scouts Friendship Park, where families can stop by to take a book, leave a book, and discover a new favorite read!

Great work, Troop 42080! 📖✨

In recognition of this October, we're spotlighting Madison B. ( ) and her impactful Gold Award project, Feeling it Through: Sensory Overload – At Ease 💙

While volunteering at Camp Giborim, Madison saw how sensory processing differences can intensify stress for children and adults with autism, Down syndrome, and other disabilities. She learned that differences in learning, communication, and processing speed can make it harder for individuals to regulate emotions or express when they are overwhelmed, especially in high-stress environments.

To help address this need, Madison created sensory bins designed to support emotional regulation, focus, and calming strategies for a wide range of ages and abilities. She also developed educational videos showing others how to build similar sensory tools using low-cost materials, making the resources more accessible for schools and families. What began with a goal of reaching three schools expanded into partnerships with seven Broward County schools, supporting more than 200 individuals. Survey results showed 100% of school caseworkers found the sensory tools helpful in reducing stress, while educators shared they helped deepen understanding and strengthen connections with their students 🤝✨
