Our Garden Club meeting this coming Thursday sounds like an exciting one. Charley Amos is giving us a presentation on birds in our area. I love the birds that come to my feeders and welcome an opportunity to learn more about them and hopefully how to provide better for them.

We are meeting at the Petroleum Club in downtown Ft Worth. Shelly Harper has invited us to come as her guests and enjoy the club. Carpooling will be available from the Lake Worth Albertson's. We will meet at 9:00 am so please be on time. At this time there will be 13 of us attending with some of them meeting us there.

What better thing can you find to do on a January day when it's cold and wet outside?? You can still call President Bailey (909-386-9300) if you would like to join us or bring a friend that would like to see what our club is about.

Color Crop Nursery was the destination of the Lake Worth/Azle Garden Club this past week . Club members were able to take sketches of our yards and flower beds for suggestions from landscaper Dalton James. It was fun to be able to discuss our actual yards and flower beds and see what we can do! Our next meeting is on chocolate at the Petroleum Club in downtown Ft Worth in January. Let me know if you would like to join us. Reservations are required for this special event!!

The Lake Worth / Azle Garden Club meet at Spring Creek BBQ in Lake Worth for a make-up meeting since our February meeting was cancelled due to weather. Club member Donna O'Toole gave a very entertaining presentation on taking care of plants for a terrarium. Our next meeting is April 28 also at Spring Creek BBQ at 11:00 am. See you there!

Interesting information.

The foliage of the fall blooming aster is growing (up through stalks of last year's plants if you didn't trim them yet).

How do you treat your asters? Do you trim them back in late spring so they'll put out more fall flowers, or do you just let them grow where they are and do what they want? (There is no wrong answer).

What a fun meeting! Donna shared with us the do's and don'ts of terrarium making as well as her tips and secrets for successful terrariums. Then we all had the opportunity to make one. Hope you can join us at the next meeting in May!!!
