Thanks to members of Roselawn American Legion Post 238 for joining Post 375 as we conducted our American Flag Retirement Ceremony yesterday at the Lake Township Memorial Cemetery.

Fly your American Flag proudly! If your Flag is weather-beaten, torn, soiled or faded, please replace it. Our unserviceable flag deposit box is located at Kentland Bank in Lake Village. Until the bank re-opens, you can email [email protected] to make arrangements to have your unserviceable Flag transferred to a Post Member for retirement.

The Unserviceable Flag Ceremony is more than a disposal ritual — it is a symbolic act of patriotism, reminding participants and the public that the flag’s value is tied to its service and respect. On or about Flag Day, June 14, each year, Post 375 conducts a Flag Retirement Ceremony when they respectfully dispose of unserviceable American Flags accumulated during the previous year. This year's ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 at 9:00 a.m. at Lake Township Memorial Cemetery, weather permitting.

We can't forget to thank Post 375 family members who assisted with today's Memorial Day Ceremony. Uriel (son of Eric Holloway) sang the National Anthem. Aubrey (daughter of Jeremey Holste) played " When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again" on her flute during the retirement of The Colors. Oliver (son of Jeremey Holste) assisted with canon detail. And Heston, Audrey, James, John, and Iris, were greeters and clean-up crew. They are our future and we thank them!

Thank you Katie Whitt for the photos!
