For McKenzie Beliew, working with ARHP at Mid-Delta Health Systems as a Community Health Care Worker has prepared her for her future career in Pharmacy!

McKenzie is attending pharmacy school this Fall, and through her time working in rural communities, she says it has opened her eyes to the true insecurities that many rural Arkansans face, and it has made her more empathetic to those who truly need assistance.

For Dr. Lanita White, CEO of Community Health Centers of Arkansas, the collaboration and communication that ARHP provides between hospitals is one of its biggest advantages.

The coming together of ideas and initiatives inspires growth among ARHP’s members, and reminds them that they aren’t alone, that the challenges they face each day are faced among other people.

This overcoming of challenges together is what ARHP was founded on, and for members like CHCA, it’s proving to benefit the hospital and its surrounding community.

Something that ARHP prides itself on is the connections we have been able to build between industries within the healthcare space such as hospitals, health centers, and higher education institutions to bridge the gap and allow for open communication between these businesses so they can present challenges and obstacles that then can be overcome together, in one room.

Danna Taylor of South Arkansas Regional Hospital has had the opportunity to be in the room and see just how helpful and resourceful this type of partnership can be, and we will continue to be that bridge to strengthen the healthcare space for our rural communities.

Innovation is how rural healthcare moves forward.

At ARHP, it means constantly looking for better ways to serve communities, whether that’s improving delivery systems, rethinking payment models, advancing technology, or investing in workforce development.

It’s about staying ahead, adapting, and building a stronger, more sustainable future for healthcare in Arkansas.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Today, we pause in gratitude and reflection, honoring their legacy by continuing to care for our communities and each other.

Education is a major initiative of ARHP, especially bringing interested students from rural areas into the medical field, who are then able to return to rural areas to reinvigorate healthcare into their own communities.

Amanda Deel with NYIT in Jonesboro has seen this firsthand with her work in Northeast Arkansas, and how it not only educates these young people, but uplifts them to enter the medical field confidently and return home to bring a much needed resource right back home!

When Glenda Harper stepped in, the hospital was in a difficult financial position. Through the Arkansas Rural Health Partnership, they found support, resources, and a network of leaders through the Southwest Consortium.

From funding and advocacy to education and new technology, ARHP helped move the hospital, and patient care, forward in a real way.

Most patients may never see it, but they benefit from it every day.

Rural EMS providers are being asked to do more than ever before, and across Arkansas, the strain is growing.

In the latest Healthcare Journal of Arkansas, Arkansas Rural Health Partnership’s Camille Watson explores how workforce shortages, rising operational costs, burnout, and shifting healthcare demands are redefining the future of emergency medical services in rural communities. The article also highlights the leadership and advocacy of Pafford Medical Services and others leading the conversations around workforce development, sustainability, and the evolving role EMS plays in rural healthcare delivery across Arkansas.
