Yesterday had to find a litter of 1 week old kittens born in an unused garage, got mom a few hours later. This is the 2nd litter of mom with kittens outside in 1 week. Thankfully first litter with mom was friendly and went to rescue. Evaluating 2nd mom. She will stay with her kittens, if friendly a rescue will be found for the family, if feral she will stay with her kittens until they are 8 weeks old then she will be tnr and returned where she came from. Anyone feeding feral cats please reach out to your County TNR organization to tnr before a litter comes along!! Lake County it’s Spay and Stay

SADLY FOUND DECEASED. PLEASE KEEP HIS HEARTBROKEN OWNERS IN YOUR THOUGHTS!! Still missing from Wadsworth Rd/Delaney area in Wadsworth. Did someone pick him up thinking he was lost or dumped and didn’t report him found in our area or he may still be loose. He will now be in survival mode if loose and will run. Don’t call out or chase, call the owner’s number with any sightings. He may be in Gurnee, Beach Park, Zion, or Waukegan. He is microchipped and had a collar with owner info! He is much loved and very missed

Thank you RuthAnn Kroll for your donation of the cat trap fork off of my Lost Pets Amazon Wishlist, it was much needed to make caring for these ferals during tnr so much easier! Especially with my drop trap I hv been needing to use the past few days!! You are appreciated!!❤️

The past 4 weeks starting 4/11 trapped and tnr’d 36 cats, most of those were female so no kittens born this year to those females! One of those cats was found in the Walmart Garden Center and Waukegan Walmart employees and the officer working there was a huge help with my trapping there! We were hoping she was a scared friendly but unfortunately she is feral and will be placed in a safe barn. Trapped a dog yesterday that appears to have been dumped, so far no lost reports. A rescue working closely with LCAC is holding that poor scared fellow for his stray hold, no microchip and intact. Spent most of yesterday attempting to trap the feral with the fractured paw. He wasn’t interested in entering the trap so will be using a drop trap. He has an appt next week with 4Paws through SNS. We appreciate SNS, AHA for accommodating these large numbers, Fat Cat Rescue for lending additional traps, and most of all to WAGS (Waukegan Animals Getting Saved) for covering the costs of the Waukegan ferals, including the Waukegan Feral with the fractured foot, total 20 cats!! Any donations to WAGS is much appreciated to help continue Waukegan TNR, and vetting of any injured/sick animals arriving at Waukegan Animal Control!!

ATTENTION: Anyone who lost a pet DO NOT send anyone $ or give your credit card. There are reports of people being scammed claiming to be AC that “has your pet at a vet about to get surgery after getting injured” these claims are false! Always get the name of the vet’s office, google the number to check for authenticity, then call back! Any AC would allow you to do that, a scammer is going to find every excuse for a fast payment! Same for lost pet recovery services, no one asks for payment up front so don’t pay without meeting the people helping and check their authentication too

10 cats trapped and appts tomorrow at AHA through Spay and Stay!! All my kittens are going to Save A Pet tomorrow too, I want to thank Save A Pet for saving these babies along with everyone who has donated kitten wet and dry for these precious babies! Another thank you to Wagging Hearts for saving my first group of kittens and my mom cat with her kittens!! ❤️ Also a special thanks to Fat Cat Rescue for lending me some extra traps so we could get that large group trapped last week!! ❤️

There are laws in IL forbidding pet owner to leave their pets outside for any extended time in these extremelycold temps!! Law enforcementcan remove your pet and ensue charges, and the law is not breed specific!!!

Local law enforcement will can take temporary custody of pets left in life-threatening weather conditions.
