Our Scouts spent yesterday learning about safety, technique, and how to properly maintain a rifle from Certified NRA Instructors for the Rifle Shooting Merit Badge, then got to practice target shooting under the direction of our Range Safety Officers. Several achieved the coveted Dime Club, where 5 shots on the target are so close together, they fit under a dime!

We spent a beautiful day outside helping Arrow of Light Cub Scouts earn the Firem'n Chit, which until last year, was only eligible to be earned by older Scouts in Scouts BSA Troops. And then we had ice cream 😁🍨🍦⚜️

We are PROUD to announce our Troop's newest Eagle Scout! Noah has had an incredible journey through Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA. He earned his Eagle a few months ago and then made the trek to Philmont over the summer. Congratulations, Noah! βšœοΈπŸŽ‰

Mr. Carpenter is known to our Troop. Thank you Ted for your impact on the youth of our communities.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Scouter, Ted Carpenter. Ted was an Eagle Scout, dedicated board member, Fire Mountain camp guy, and once-upon-a-time Scoutmaster in the Mount Baker Council. He embodied the values of leadership, service, and community that Scouting represents. ⚜️

Throughout his time, Ted made significant contributions that helped shape our programs and initiatives. His passion for Scouting and commitment to youth development were evident in everything he did. Ted inspired many with his unwavering dedication and kindness, and his legacy will continue to influence our organization for years to come.

As we remember Ted, let’s honor his memory by reflecting on the positive impact he had on our community and the lives of those he touched. The family will be holding a memorial service at Fire Mountain, tentatively scheduled for Sunday June 22 at 2pm. Further details are forthcoming.

Scouting at Mt. Baker! When the youth choose the program, they learn to compromise, they learn to have fun together, and they learn what their surroundings have to offer. Last year they went snowshoeing and this year they just wanted to play β›„βšœοΈ
